my dh,dd3 and I just made resi for WL in first week of june...I wanted to try two new places to eat (we ALWAYS DO KONA AND OHANAS) so we decided to do garden grill at epcot and grand floridian cafe...how are those two? We are set on kona and ohana but need thoughts>>>>THANKS

It's been a few years since we ate at Garden Grill but the food was decent. Just had dinner at Grand Floridian Cafe in Sept and thought it was excellent - from the food to the service. It's one of the more quiet restaurants on property.

I had the steak, mashed potatoes (which were the best I think I've ever had) and fondue for dessert. DH had some kind of fish and thought it was delicious.

:flower3: There are better restaurants than the Garden Grill. I would suggest one of the restaurants at the counties in Epcot or try Spoodles, Bomas,Cape May.

How about Whispering Canyon....it is a ton of fun. I also like Boma and your little one might enjoy seeing the animals at the lookout.

We ate at Garden Grill in October and found the food to be very satsifying! The mashed potatoes are excellent as is the fish. It's very fresh and flavored excellently. My husband, who does not like fish at all, could not believe how great it was! We had eaten at Liberty Tree the day before which had a similar meal...Garden Grill was much better.

it is between garden grill and boma (we just stayed at AKL CLUB) and we loved the food in the lounge that was from boma...does anyone know what days they have the butternut squash soup at boma? I LOVE THAT STUFF....it was in the lounge evry night.

I think Garden Grill will be great for your 3 yr old! We tried it this past Feb for the 1st time. Our DS was 2.5 at the time. It is a very relaxing character meal. You stay at your seats & are served family style w/unlimited amounts. The characters walk around & spend lots of time w/you. We were visited by Mickey, Pluto, Chip & Dale multiple times each! Nothing was rushed. Chip & Dale were great too. Chip played peekaboo w/DS using DS's napkin. Then Dale used my viewer for my camcorder to fix his hair.
Plus, DS loved the decorate your own cupcake dessert. It gave us a chance to take our time eating b/c he was occupied. The corn bread & potatoes are yummy! Kids have their own food too.
We are not fans of the character buffet meals. They are always loud & kids everywhere. Then you have to time when to get more food w/when a character might be coming. Garden Grill was much more relaxing & I'd definitely do it again.

We went to the GFC in August and it was out of this world, from appies to desserts the food was incredible. The service could not get any better either!

I like the Whispering Canyon Cafe and Boma as well, and I must have at least on dinner at the World Showcase. I like San Angel Inn, Chefs de France, and Le Cellier
