Hi fellow Podcasters...I really need good thoughts, prayers and pixie dust for my daughter today. She goes in to get her ribs adjusted.
It is non surgical but she will be in so much pain today.
She got hit in the ribs several years ago in high school with a piece of wood in shop class. She has had severe pain the last 3 years and has been in and out of ER. She gets a fever, nausea, and horrible side pain. Her white blood count is low, her liver counts are high. Lately she has trouble breathing because the ribs are pushing into her lungs. You can see that her rib cage is dented (also feel it) There is not a test that exists that they have not done, from blood to scans, She has been to so many doctors too. She glows in the dark now! The doctors think the rib is torn/broken or slipped where the cartilage rib joins to the rib. She applies lidocaine patches daily to keep the area numb. They want her off the vicodin, which she is now.
Because of her training in martial arts, the area never heals. She can go months with no pain and then gets kicked in the area and wham, back to ER or the dr. Doctor wants her to stop but she loves it and is really good at it and hope to teach it someday. She got her 1st degree black belt in mixed martial arts last August. She has cut back and had to drop a martial arts class in college because of it.
Well . .I know how you all have helped so many with your thoughts and there is power in numbers. So if you could think good things today at 1130am (PST) for my Eleni I would really appreciate it.
Thanks everyone....denise
