Thoughts about wedding rings not matching

It is totally personal preference. DH has a cool titanium ring, with black, gold and silver. I love his ring, but I have a diamond band. If it is important to you, you could probably get the same style ring, just yellow and white gold. You may even want a unique stye, no one would realize they are two different colors. This way, you have the same ring, but with your own preferences. You could also get inexpensive matching bands to wear during special occasions.

We also are not getting matching wedding bands. I wanted to at first, but I really wanted diamonds in mine and there was NO way DF would wear diamonds. So, he is getting a titanium one and I am getting white gold w/ diamonds in it. We're actually going to order them next weekend :)

Good luck, I hope your DF comes around!

Ours do not match. My e-ring and band don't even match. Platinum e-ring and my band was my Grandmothers. It's yellow gold 5 diamond band. DH has a white/yellow gold band that he wears when we go out and on vacation. He's a truck driver and mechanic and the ring would get ruined if he wore it all the time.

Ours don't match either. DH has a titanium wedding band, mine is platinum with diamonds. I think wearing them is more important than having them match.

My wife's wedding band is her grandmother's platinum filigree engagement ring (with the large center stone cut out of it), and my wedding band is a fairly plain 14K yellow gold number right out of the jeweler's case. As a piece of jewelry, my wedding band is nothing special, but my wife's is exquisite. [I saved the stone we cut out of the center of her grandmother's ring, and 4 years later I had it mounted on a pendant and gave it to my wife as a graduation gift.]

ours didn't match...mine is platinum comfort fit w/3 diamonds °o°, DH's was titanium...yes WAS...he lost it (probably got sucked up in the vacuum at his mom's). He knew that he probably would (he doesn't wear jewelry) so we spent the money on my ring not his. :rotfl:

I thought about re-ordering his ring (esp. since that particular style is so cheap now), but it doesn't really bother me that he doesn't wear one...maybe for some anniversary down the road...

I don't think there is any "rule" regarding this anyways. My DF's ring just happens to match mine, but we did not go into this with that expectation. I was just going to buy whatever he liked. My opinion is you are going to wear these rings for the rest of your lives, so it is only proper that you love the ring you are wearing, whether it matches or not.

As far as registries, we only registered to one place, but that is because I am kinda picky....:rotfl:

But most commonly I see brides and grooms register to about three places as an average.

Good Luck! :thumbsup2

I say....get what ever rings that make you happy! :) My husband and I have matching rings. I happen to like the look of the rings matching, and I feel like they really symbolize the "two people becoming one" of the wedding ceremony. But, it's all in your personal taste, and in what ever makes you happy.

I was registered at 3 places. I found that those three places really gave just enough price ranges, and variety for our guests to look through.

Take it from someone who has been married for 32 years -- the color of your wedding rings doesn't make one bit of difference.

It is absolutely insignificant in the scheme of life.

Good luck to you!:goodvibes

My DH has a tungsten-carbide ring and mins is a white gold ring with diamonds. We knew from the beginning that we wouldn't have matching bands. We just don't like the same things. And honestly, it doesn't really matter. As long as you're both comfortable with your choices and happy to wear them, that's all that matters. :goodvibes

I have a simple silver band with a beautiful poem engraved on it.

And my DF is having a "S" Superman logo ring as his wedding band!

People who have their weddings at Disney tend to be more creative than etiquette ordinarily allows so GO FOR IT!!!
