Thought on DVC Sites

It appears that us DVC members are having a hard time reserving on points and when something is available this year, it is full hook up only. Member services does show preferred and premium as an option but not available.

Thinking on it (as I probably should not), I am wondering if they hold back on the preferred and premium sites in hopes they can sell them for cash but come check in time, if the preferred or premium sites are available, they will upgrade the DVC members on points? There appears to be no point difference regardless of what site you book.

I will find out on the 21st of March when we check in and I will report back. We are using points and are confirmed for a full hook up but I have requested the 500 loop which is now premium.

I had a very hard time booking on points for a full hook-up site. They kept saying nothing was available. I was finally able to reserve but it did take awhile. We check in 3/29 for spring break.

I had the same problem as you. I tried to book last summer for March 21-27 and was told nothing was available. I then decided against cash and had booked a site at Topsail Hill in Destin, Fl instead. Just for fun, I called in late January and low and behold they had a site for us on cash. So needless to say, we cancelled Topsail and will be at FW.

I am not sure why they are being so stingy with the DVC sites. My guess is they are holding out for cash but it would be nice if they showed a little more appreciation for DVC members as I will be spending plenty of cash that week. Although they won't be getting my cash for a golf cart as I am using Kenny form Tee Time for that.

i think it's always been showing full hook up but you can and probably will get a preferred or premium if requested. thats always been my experience at least. i STILL say they took away the fee only because they made LESS available to us dvc members. that stinks.
