Mine came about after a thread about my co-worker and how she tells how intellectually superior she is to us, pretty much every day. Yet she sits next to me. ( the drool towel one )

And my "eyes were crossed for a week" one was about getting my eyebrows waxed for the first time. I sported a Bert-esque brow when I was 13 and it was very, very painful.

Yes! I was in a "tag fairy sighting area" and the "I need to start thinking of pithy things to say" was my equivalent of making sure my hair was brushed and tidy.

The "It costs him money every time I watch" was a previous quote from my reference to DH's statement that HGTV should be a premium TV channel because it costs him money everytime I watch.

The tags are from late 2006.....How does my hair look?

That's awesome that you guys remember! I've been curious if the tags really do call out to people versus randomly happening in conversation.

I think it's too funny what some of the background stories are!

The TF came by a thread and tagged those of us who were regulars at that time. I didn't even notice it until later the next day.

My first tag came on one of those threads begging for tags. We were all posting what we would do to get a tag. I think those of us who posted early in the thread all got tags at the same time.

My second tag was from a thread on fears.

I don't remember what the theme of the thread was on my 3rd tag but my story was about a purchase I regretted having made. It's my favorite tag because I laugh every time I see it and remember the story of my ridiculous purchase.

All came within a day of my posts.

My tag came late last winter, as the frequenters of the Dining boards had worked themselves into a collective lather over whether or not Free Dining would be announced in the early spring.

All signs pointed to an announcement of Free Dining in March or April, as had been each and every spring for several years previously; yet everyone was just sure that it wouldn't happen this year, and there was much wailing and gnashing of teeth and rending of garments.

In an attempt to lighten the mood and calm everyone down I retold the story of Disney's Chicken Little cartoon, wherein the fox tosses a bit of blue board over the fence into the chicken yard, striking a chicken on the head. The chickens become convinced that the sky is falling, after all a piece of it just hit one of them on the head, and mass panic ensues for no good reason. I ended my post by begging everyone, "People, please, don't be like the chickens!"

Shortly thereafter, a tag apeared!!

My first one (the scrolling one) I gave myself. When I first joined my avatar was Crush from Finding Nemo, so I put "Sweet!! Totally!!" under it because that's what Crush says all the time. Then my second one was because someone was going to DLR after some bad weather and they posted that their forecast was for good weather so I said something like "have fun and YAY for good weather!" lol the last one was a random thread and I made a comment about the Disney Magic. I think that's my favorite one.

My first tag came from my long neglected WISH journal. I was stunned that anyone (let alone the tag fairy) read it.

The second tag came from a story I told about a funny that my DD had said about DH.

The Prep H one refers to a thread about using Prep H on baggy/puffy eye circles.

I honestly don't know how long I've had these tags, several years.

My tag was from a thread about World Series baseball. And my comments had something to do with how I would like to see great baseball if neither of my teams were in it. I received the tag the same day I replied to the thread.

Mine came from a conversation about toys from the 70's (or maybe it was toys that would probably be banned now).

And, yes, I do think it appeared fairly soon after - maybe the next day.

My tags came very long ago and I do believe that the tag fairy is a new fairy on the block as it were. Does she even give tags any more? Mine are out of date but I'm afraid to erase them.

There may be some new fairies, but some of the older ones are still creaking around

And, yes, we're still tagging now & then.

Mine was unexpected - it was on a thread about a person who stopped to help a turtle across the road.

I'm not sure how long after posting my comment appeared as a tag.

I'm pretty sure the thread topic was a debate about making donations to Haiti vs helping people in the US, although it may have been a debate about Stephen King. I'm pretty sure it was the Haiti thread, though.
