I created a thread in the disunplugged board with a poll asking those who have used FP+ what their experience was and if they like it or not. In this week podcast a lot was discussed including people who emailed in and what they thought. Majority of those people like FP+. It seems as thought most of the negativity comes from those who haven't used FP+. It is still in testing and it isn't going away reports are it's approaching 2 billion dollars so it here for the long haul whether we like it or not.

Every company makes interesting decisions and for Disney this was one. They have spent more on this project than some theme parks. Disney is going to keep tweaking the system until they can make money back from it and make it a success. DCA wasn't a success so they poured more money into it and now it's doing well.

In my experience and opinion:

-Before I used it, I hated it, the whole MyMagic+ thing was something I was completely and totally against and I did not want to deal with it.

Come Oct we used it for a quick 3 day trip and I loved it. Because we were only there 3 days, we had one full day at MK, and one day split between AK & DHS, with the fast pass plus, we were able to book ToT & TSMM fast passes for halfway through the afternoon, it was fantastic to know that we could arrive halfway through the day and have a guaranteed ride on some headliners.

Since then I've used it another 4 times and it seems to be working fine for us. Yes, it's a pain to only get 3 fp+'s, but it works out fine. The biggest downfall I've noticed it just how much longer it takes to scan the bands at the front of the fp line & thus a back up occurs

I agree the back up with the scanning seems to be a head ache. And rumors are still flying about new options for additional FPs even Disney in their surveys have asked several questions about adding FPs.

First off I watched the podcast and his assumptions about who likes it and who doesn't were ridiculous. Now, he did note that of the EMAILS they got, the majority liked it. But seriously, who the heck watches the Podcast ? No one but the most die-hard fans. What do you expect ? That's like going to a republican convention and asking what people think of George W Bush. Or going to a democratic convention and asking what people think of Bill Clinton. People are going to LOVE them. Of course, ask the opposite question, and you would get the opposite answer at each convention.

He said from his reading of the boards it seems most people who don't like FP+ haven't used it, and that's just absolute bogus which has been pointed out here countless times, while that might have been true in Sept, Oct, Nov, Dec, .... the last few months most of the posts coming up are from people who have used the system, and didn't like it, while occasionally we see a "positive" post from someone.

Its interesting that the people who make these posts often note they are doing so in opposition to the overwhelming number of negative posts.

Many of the People in the "pro- FP+" camp continue to argue that the reason why there are so many more negative reviews is because people are more likely to complain than compliment the system. These people too recognize the overwhelming majority of posts are negative, they just have a justification for it, and we have seen them post this many, many times.

Yea so, maybe he is reading the resorts board ? :P

In my case the problem was the MB that inconsistently said I had no FP+. I read all the FP+ posts on the DIS, and never see that issue mentioned. My reluctance to re-visit WDW is not that I can get only 3 FP+ per day, but that I might not have any at all. Am I the only one who sees this as a problem?

Think what you want but from reading around here lately FP+ negative opinions get pats on the back and if you had a good experience you must be hiding something because the lines were 200 minutes for very ride even though the person stated they never waited longer than 20-30 mins the whole trip.

Negative will always be a primary reason someone posts though. In the end I am glad they have FP+ and can't wait to try it.

This is a major issue, did you email disney about it? Also how did you reserve your FP+?

I've used MyMagic+/FP+ a few times. In February the app was inoperable, We received, "The system is busy try again later," errors. Our trip last weekend, the app functioned with few hitches. We were able to make all the changes we wanted.

Our changes resulted in staying away from the parks and swimming in the resort pool. By the end of our trip we had come to the decision that AP's weren't necessary if we were having more fun at the pool.

The crowds weren't managed well. FP+ lines were very long, stand by lines were worse. It wasn't the volume of people in the parks. It was the way they moved. People had their heads down, and would rapidly stop and change directions. Groups of five people would stop in the middle of the path, causing a ripple traffic jamb. You couldn't go anywhere without smoking the cigarettes of someone else.

The app appears to be functioning well enough, but I have no reason to use it.

I made all my FP+ before I left home. The MB worked about every other day, and even PART of a day. No, I did not e-mail anyone. I did complain at DHS and was given a blank FP ticket, just before the MB started working again! I found the ride CMs to be sympathetic the first time each day that the MB said I had no FP+.

My SOP last December was to take a photo of our laptop with the FP+ times for the day with my cellphone, every morning before we left our hotel room. That way if we got the blue ring o'death we just needed to whip out the phone and show the CM at the ride entrance. Every time we did that, the CMs waved us right through.

(Neither my crappy little phone, nor my husband's Blackberry, would accept the MDE app.)

I would be very disappointed with this. They had no business rolling out a replacement for legacy FP until it worked as well as the old system. There's no excuse for this.

Well Pete owns the boards so I guess he can see what is trending and what is not. Going through the boards I have seen more positive posts as of late than all negative like before. I also read a lot of trip reports and most people haven't had too many problems with FP. A few thousand people watch the podcast so I think that is a good amount. I don't think all of them are die hard fans either. I'm sure there is a lot of analytical information that Pete goes through for these boards. There will always be pro FP+ That won't go away. I posed the poll question to see if you like it dislike think it's just ok or if it's keeping you away from future vacations. I think there was a huge number of negativity before and there still is but I think it has died down a bit. The system isn't perfect we know that and Disney knows that.
