Those who have stayed on Palm Parkway, LBV ~ questions

Hi everyone!! Just one month to go! We leave for our first trip to Florida on March 20th!

We're staying at the Quality Suites LBV on Palm Parkway, and don't intend to rent a car. Some questions for anyone who has stayed there or nearby:

1. Did you take the Lynx bus to the DW parks? Was it easy to manage? Our hotel provides a shuttle but as I realized after booking, the timing for going isn't really the best and it doesn't run throughout the day, so we're thinking of taking the Lynx bus when we need to. How was the trip to the parks? How long did it take you?

2. Has anyone taken transit or walked to a nearby grocery story to stock up on snacks, bottled water, etc? We have a free breakfast every day, but will want snacks to make natchos, etc, sometimes. Is there a store close by?

3. Has anyone walked to DTD from there? What about restaurants nearby for dinner? Any recommendations? The address of our hotel is 8200 Palm Parkway I believe. Any recommendations for dinner at DTD?

4. I know it sounds crazy, but has anyone ever taken the Lynx back to their hotel for a break and then back to the park for the evening? Is the trip just too long for that? We're pretty laid back people who don't mind taking public transportation, so I'm just wondering if we could manage it if needed.

Stayed there in 2009. Great location. Yes, you can walk to a small shopping mall nearby. They have restaurants (Cici's pizza, etc, etc). Have no idea about buses because we have a car.

You may want to use Google streetview feature and "drive" around the area to see for yourself.
