Those wall dispensers really are gross

As long as its pure soap coming out of there I don't mind them in principle. They really do need to keep them in good working order though!

I agree. What I want to know is if these same people refuse to use soap dispensers in public bathrooms. Wouldn't that be the same thing?

For the record, I have used toiletry from big dispensers at other hotels (haven't been to Disney properties since the switch). But in general, there is a big difference between putting "dirty" stuff on your hands vs. your hair and other body parts, IMHO.

I guess I just don't see the difference. Dirty is dirty, no matter where it is. But, I'm just trying to understand how one is putting anything dirty on anything. I'm not seeing any reports of anything being dirty INSIDE the bottle. But maybe I'm missing something?

I haven't seen them.

What is getting inside the bottles?

I'm a certified germaphobe.

What are we concerned about?

I need to know.

lol

I won't use the salt / pepper / ketchup / hot sauce etc on the table at a restaurant. I rarely eat at buffets.
I mean, I won't use shared laundry facilities ( including in room laundry at resorts) but everyone here seems to absolutely love them.
So, if people here are very concerned about the shampoo bottles, I guess I'd better be!

My concern would be people intentionally contaminating them. Somehow, I worry about this less at a Disney property than others. But if you can open the bottles, I probably won't use them. Even thought technically, most shampoo / conditioner / soap is not sealed when purchasing at the grocery store (and therefore technically could also be tampered with) it's obviously easier to do in the privacy of a hotel room.

Probably but you are not standing naked trying to wash body part!
Why not? If you're washing your body parts in the public bathroom it's easier to strip down and do it all at once. :p

Of course, some people might stare...but everybody always gives me plenty of space, especially when I'm standing under the hand dryer. (Sometimes they even put money in my hat for some reason)

Visible mold in the shower usually gets a lot of agreement that it's gross and DVC should be informed immediately and remedy it. That it's hidden behind something and is defended is interesting.

I don’t know where you are but the ones here are all
automatic so we don’t touch anything. And no, we don’t use the ones at Disney either. I have to carry my own soap ( daughter has allergy).

I have been to plenty of bathrooms that did not have automatic dispensers. Many you pull something forward to dispense the soap.

It may appear that I'm defending it. I'm definitely not. If there is gross stuff behind the dispensers, then it definitely needs to be reported. My point though is that nothing gross is getting onto your hands, hair, or body parts if the gross stuff is behind the dispenser. As long as soap is coming out of the bottle, you're going to get clean. That's why I don't worry about using the dispensers that you have to touch in a public bathroom. Because I know that the soap will kill any germs on my hands after using that type of dispenser.
