Those using ME with no luggage tags...

My luggage tags were supposedly mailed on 1/9. I still have not received them, and we leave on Sunday. The mail here is still VERY slow, but I didn't think it would take over 3 weeks to get mail from FL.

Anyway, for those of you who had to use ME without luggage tags, did you have any problems getting your luggage? The ME people assured me it will not be an issue, but I'm still paranoid.

You have two choices. You can give your luggage claim slips to the DME people and they will pull it off the carousel and put it on the DME delivery truck. Or, you can get it yourself, and take it with you. It will go underneath the bus and you will have it with you at the resort.
The way I figure it...if you have to take the time to go to baggage claim, in order to be sure they have the right luggage, you might just as well take it with you to the bus. Then you'll have no issues about when it's going to arrive in your room.
A lot of people have had no problems whatsoever in having DME people get their 'untagged' luggage from baggage claim. But I would want to be sure they had the correct bags before I left the airport. I've used DME three times now and had a great experience with them every time.

We landed at MCO on January 1st having never received our luggage tags. It took about 15 minutes to get thru the line to a CM, he was very helpful. I gave him my claim checks, gave him a description of our bags and how many, then proceeded to the bus. I worried the whole evening at MK as to whether our bags would not only be in our room when we returned, but if all of them would be there. Guess what, when we walked in our room, there sat all 6 of our bags, just like my travel agent and the ME CM said they would. Don't bother to get your bags, just utilize the service the way it is intended, your bags will be in your room later in the evening the day of your arrival. Have trust in the system, it does work, even without the luggage tags.

We have not received our tags either.

I have read that we can either grab our bags and take them to the bus or give the CM our baggage claim tickets.

I thought that I read if you have they pick them up they take a picture of your luggage and you have to verify that it is yours. Is that true and does this take a long time?

Nope. The CMs at the checkin counter have pictures of pretty much every type of luggage. You point out which ones your bags look like, and give the CM your claim checks.

Bright yellow with Mickey’s picture on them, my last name and our resort. I printed out a copy of the tags and taped on a hunk of the bright green ribbon we had also tied to the bags and gave it to the CMs. They were very impressed and laughed when I asked them to please not sue me for the unauthorized use of Mickey’s picture. We got our bags no problem.

That's what I did for my first trip using DME!!! I made my own yellow tags, put all our info on them (last name, resort name, and which bag of how many bags) then put contact paper on them. Then got some bright lime green, with Pooh on it, blanket binding and tied that on my bags also. Then, I was going to take a photo of my bags to give them. However,,,,the day before we wer to leave, my packet came. So never got to use my nifty homemade tags.
