Those "Special Cabins"

I know I have seen a posting regarding the special #100 cabins. Can you add these as a request to your ressie or do you have to just ask and see if you get some special magic added to your trip when you check-in?

I'd like to know also.

A couple of years ago a group of us had 5 sites in the 100 loop and we had one family that needed to stay in a cabin. I tried to get one of those cabins and was advised they were not available for ressies.

When I have inquired at the Fort about them I usually was told they were VIP cabins, but I have seen people using them that clearly weren't what I considered the VIP type. Even though I stay in 116 a lot of the time, which is right next to them, I have not questioned any of the people staying in them because I thought it might be rude.

Besides being for Disney VIPs, I had read that they used to offer these at random to special campers. Not sure if that continues or how they selected these special families. I would certainly love to be one of the chosen. :thumbsup2

Word is that you cannot request these cabins, you just have to luck into them... or be what Disney considers a VIP ;)

From what I've been told... these cabins are reserved for FLeetwood VIP's. (*Fleetwood is the company that built the pre-fab cabins in FW.)

Can someone please explain what is different about these cabins?? Thanks heaps!

What is really cool about these cabins is they are in a PRIMO location! (A short walk away from Pioneer Hall, Trading Post, Marina, etc...)

They are nicer inside they have stone grills/fire place very nice patio chairs and table finally they are right up front about a 2 min walk to the marina

Steve and I had one of these during our 2008 trip to WDW. I had no idea at the the time that this was a premo location. We had cabin #118. I can say that the only difference other than location is that all of the dishes matched and the floor had been swept! (as opposed to the next time we stayed in the 2300 loop).

The CM was so excited when she told me that if we were willing to wait 20 minutes we'd be staying in #118. That's how we got the silver tuna!! I had no idea what we'd scored!

So yes, they do assign them to the ordinary "joe" or Steve and Denise!! And requesting isn't necessary as it's just luck of the draw.

1) These are considered VIP cabins, and not for general/public rent.
2) Typically, you need to be a Level-2 or Level-3 VIP to qualify.

I flash my Disney VIP card given to me by Bobby and am offered one of these cabins every trip. I always turn them down because I prefer to stay in my camper in the 1800 loop.

I've shared this story before, but...
seven summers ago the elderly man died in his class a motorhome in the spot next to us. His wife and their granddaughter were put up in one of these "special" cabins until other family members could get there to help them with arrangements. (A bagpiper walked through the loop playing Amazing Grace the next morning at dawn, too, which is one of my most magical memories at FW.)

1) Yep.
2) I understand.
3) Bobby gives out a lot of those VIP passes.
4) But, strangely, only to people who can't/won't use them.
