I understand that when making seating requests that they are just "requests" and in no way guaranteed and may be reassigned for "operational reasons".
If you take advantage of Virgin's online check in scheme you can also sort out your seating assignment. Are these then confirmed seating assignments or subject to change. I assume that if they are integral to the check in process then they would be confirmed.
If this is the case then are customers checking in online offered the whole range of available seating ie the full 60% pre released including those seats that have been allocated as seating "requests".Or is it the case that an online checkin will only be offered the opportunity to book seats that have not been preassigned as "requests"?
Could it be the case that you may lose your request if you take advantage of twilight check in and find your seat has been chosen by somebody using the online facility.
We have used twilight check in in the past and did intend to do so in November but is there now any major advantage with the advent of online check in (assuming access to the internet of course which I fully understand not everyone has)?
Would I not be better off using the online facility?
I also understand that this seating topic must be a real pain in the derriere for those blessed with a laid back attitude to such apparent trivia. However to those of us who make our living finding the "devil in the detail" little things like this that could go wrong on the eve of something that has taken huge planning and effort do matter.
