Do you have any secrets/tips for getting up and out that early in the morning? I know it sounds funny, because most of us do it everyday, but for some reason it is more difficult at WDW. I guess its due to all the activity.

Do you skip breakfast, eat in your room or actually go somewhere to eat?

We will have a car and are staying at POR. Do you think it would be faster to drive or take the bus?

Are there fastpasses available for the non-EMH attractions during the EMH, or do you have to wait until opening time?

At MK, what should you get your first fastpass for? We will be doing the following: Buzz, Space Mountain, racecars, teacups, Pooh, Its a Small World.
After EMH we want to do BTMR and Splash Mtn. Any advice?

Any other tips you can think of? Thanks so much!

We always do EMH in the AM. It just works better for us (we go to bed early ::yes:: ). So first thing is get a Mickey Wake Up Call. They start the day off right! Then have some easy breakfast foods in the room, like cereal bars, bagels, fruit, juices...eat before you go.

We have a car too but ALWAYS use the bus in the AM. It's part of the fun and the big plus is the bus drops you off right at the main entrance. You can not get a fastpass until the rest of the parks open. It is INCREDIBLE the amount of rides you can accomplish in that first hour in MK. It is so worth it IMO. Hope that helps!

Always use the bus service for EMH at MK!! ::yes::

It is just the opposite for us!! :teeth: With all the excitement it is easier to get up early.....
But try the Mickey wake up call.
Or just plan enough time to get up and be ready to head to the bus stop by 6:45am. this will give you a few extra minutes if you are moving slower.
If you need to....have one of the family run down to the food court right at 6:30 to grab coffee.
Otherwise just grab cereal bars and juice and put them in your bag. You can eat them on the way or while you are in line to get into the park.

You want to get to the bus stop by 7am, be on the first or second bus. This way you will be able to take full advantage of EMH.
Like another poster said....you won't believe how much you can do that first hour!!

We get up, get dressed, get a muffin to go from the food court, and take it with us to the bus stop for EMH at MK/car to other parks. When the rope drops, we head to Buzz Lightyear first, then rotate all the way to Fantasyland. Once we're done with Fantasyland, then we take a break and stop at Main St Bakery. Then we can finish off Frontierland, ToonTown, and Adventureland.

We just took advantage of EMH at MK in March during the Spring Break crowds. MK opened at 7 a.m.! Our alarm was set for 5:45 :earseek: and we were at the bus by about 6:20. We had granola bars and Pop Tarts before we left. Hubby did go and get his coffee at the Food Court at 6 a.m...right when they opened.

We have small children, so it wasn't too much of a stretch for us to get up so early, plus we were all excited to get to the park.

I couldn't believe how much we accomplished in an hour and a half. We had ressies at CRT at 8:30...so we had from 7 until 8:30. We did all of Fantasyland...I mean, everything! and we still had time to spare.

While me and MIL were doing Fantasyland with our DD 4 and 2, my DH and DS8 made a bee line for Space Mountain, then proceeded to do Buzz 3 times in a row, Stich (DH said it wasn't that great) and then went clear across the park to Splash Mountain...all before our 8:30 breakfast!

It was really the only way we could make the Spring Break/Easter crowds tolerable!

We've done this in the past. My tips are:
Don't try it after a really late night if you can avoid it (we can't! LOL).
Set the alarm for 1/2 an hour earlier than you intend to get up. Schedule a wake up call for the time you MUST be up.
Our biggest helpful tip: Take turns! For example, if we're doing EMH in the AM, I'll get up and hop in the shower and go down to the food court and pick up breakfast to bring back. By the time I'm back, DH is up (after sleeping in for about 15 minutes while I showered), showered and dressed by the time I unload breakfast.
Then, if we're going to do EMH Am the next day, I'll get to sleep in those 15 minutes and he'll be up getting ready and getting breakfast hooked up for us. :)

But overall, I have to say I have no problem getting up early at Disneyworld. I'm practically too excited to close my eyes every night!

We always take advantage of the extra morning hour. I think my nervous energy makes it easier to wake up--kinda like Christmas morning.

I set the coffee maker up the night before, so I just have to flip the button. I have my bag for the park packed and ready the night before. We just get up and throw on clothes. We bring some breakfast things with us (like poptarts) to snack on.

TIPS: Be at the park about 15-20 minutes before they open the gates.

Head to Space, then Buzz.

Go to Indy Speedway (if you must!)

Go to Fantasyland. Any reason you're not going on Peter Pan??

Position yourself at the rope on the way to Frontierland about 10 minutes before Frontierland opens. You'll see a crowd gathering already.

Do Splash. If you'll want to do it twice, get a fastpass now.

Do BTMR.

We then head back to Haunted Mansion, but you didn't mention that one. Then start back getting fastpasses for anything you want to do twice.

That extra hour in the morning is invaluable!!!

DD wants to do Indy Speedway. Wouldn't be my choice!

We've seen it before and no one wanted to do it this time.

Sorry, yes we will do HM.

Thanks to everyone for all the advice. I can't wait to try it. :goodvibes

After three trips, we have NEVER made it to EME no matter what. After reading all of your posts, I'm inspired and determined to do it this year. Thanks!
