Those of us who didn't get an e-mail

I couldn't believe it!! After 12 visits to WDW since 1998 (all on-site), I finally got an e-mail. Last year, after reading about all the discount e-mails, I re-registered using three different e-mail addresses. I only received one e-mail from Disney. Of course, I can't use the code as we are not going again until May 2005. At least I know I'm on their list.

No postcards or e-mail for me either ... :( I didn't really expect to get one though since I'm from Canada. I think it's pretty rare for Canadians to get a postcard. Oh well! I'm happy for everyone who managed to get one :p I guess all I can do now is hope for AP or room-only discounts for October.

I couldn't agree with you more. I'm waiting and waiting for general codes to come out and I'm getting really inpatient. If I don't see anything by the end of the week or the beginning of next week, I will be booking off-site. I just want to get the hotel booked already.

Hi Lollipop Mom!! I know what you mean about Hartsfield-Jackson airport!!!! We can drive in about the same time it takes us to get from Buford, to the airport, park wait thru security, fly, wait for rental car, etc!!!! We've tried it and driving is now much easier for us. DH doesn't mind driving during the night so we leave around 3 or 4 am. and pull into the WL around lunch time!!!

 We do the same thing leaving very very early. DH goes to be early the night before and I keep the kids up till about 10:30. That way they are GOOD and tired. They don't wake up till after 9 AM and by that time we are very close. We stop for a big breakfast and let them stretch. Then they watch a movie in the van and by the time that is over we're there! When we check in I take them to burn off some energy while DH naps for a couple of hours.

I am acutally searching for good airfare this time only b/c it's just my 4 year old and I. It kills me that I'd be spending the same amount on transfers from the airport as I would spend in gas to get there and back and I'd only be saving about 2 hours time but I don't like the idea of the 8 hour drive back with just me and DS when I am tired already, kwim? I've told DH if I can get $150 or so round trip we'll fly, if not we drive.

I'm sure I will get a postcard-when I come back from my trip in October-that would be my luck, then I might just have to go again.:D

Great idea for a thread, I'm glad to know I'm not the only one who NEVER gets a postcard, email, etc!

You would think Disney would reward the faithful who go back all the time, or maybe they know we will go anyway, even without a discount!!

It's not targeted by town or area. I know of one person in my town who did get an e-mail, however I and another (both DVC and AP voucher/holders) did not. I have read elsewhere that these groups DID receive the e-mail.
I am assuming that you had to order the vacation video relatively recently to get the e-mail. That appears to be the only binding variable (we ordered ours before our last trip in February).
I am just HOPING for a relatively low response rate for the mailout(4% for an e-mail being a high rate). I am assuming that we should get an answer if additional codes come out soon ... The disboard audience is skewed - with rates like that if I weren't going already I would consider it (especially with the AP).
Any other thoughts on this?

This being my first trip to Disney in 7 years I wasn't shore about prices. When i booked my ressie back in April for September, I got a AAA rate which was like 69 dollars a night at POP. Since then I do what alot of people do.. change their reservation! I called about a month and a half ago and just asked if there were any changes in price since I last called (not knowing about codes or emails or postcards or ANYHTING..I wasn't up on the Disney discount thing). She said yes, the room for September is not 49 dollars a night. I was like, "cool I'm glad I called". Since then I have called twice to change my reservation. Once to change the resort to CBR. She gave me a rate of $79 per night there. When I got my confirmation it said on it "September offer". Okay, so of course this wasn't good enough, I now wanted a deluxe resort. So I called again about a few weeks later. Switched it to the Poly. She gave me the rate of $209 per night. Now, this is all without codes, emails, or postcards. I have seen people talking about getting a postcard or emails and being excited about getting Poly for $209 or POP for $49 with a special pin number, but I got these rates just through the September offer. So I'm guessing that this is a fall thing available for everyone.

There is a sept rate that is available for anyone. The people who are fretting here are the ones from Oct-Dec.

Oh i see. Okay. I thought I read someone getting a postcard for September and getting these rates from a special code and PIN for September. I got it now. Thanks.

How do you go about registering for the vacation video? I'll register my husband and see what happens!!

For what it's worth, we didn't order the vacation planning video and did receive the email offer...............

Definately not a recent planning video order. I ordered mine in February, and a DVC DVD at the same time.

No email for me. :( Congratulations to those who did receive the now famous email. :D Going crazy waiting for AP codes here in PA.

Go to "My Vacation" on disney.com, log in, and under "plan a trip to Walt Disney World" click on "order yours".

I set my DH up a couple of days ago under his e-mail at work. We will see if anything happens, LOL (He's getting a vacation video sent to his work address, good thing he's the boss!)!:smooth:
