I went to Target this morning and found some cheapy rainboots. Nothing exciting, but cute for the price ($25). They seemed pretty comfortable, too. Last year we killed a hair dryer at the hotel by trying to dry out our Vans. oops... But might be a good idea for others, too. We can get through the rain if we're comfortable :santa:

We just got back from our weekend trip. The rain never let up for the two days we were there and rain boots would definitely have been a great idea. I just put everyone's shoes next to the heater until our next venture outside, but I'd rather have had our feet stay dry and warm. Disney's making a killing on rain slickers!

Walmart had some cute rainboots for kids and women and basic solid colors for men from $17 to $23. They also have rain gear (pants, jackets, etc) in their camping section, and nice ponchos (adult and child) over by the umbrellas.

Coming from Oregon trying to get away from the rain. All my kids and wife have 2 sets of shooes and myself I wear boots that are near waterproof. Stopped at the Dollar Store and stocked up on ponchos. Hoping to stay semi dry.

I was at Disneyland all day on Saturday
(18th). It rained just about the entire time. Here is my advice. Make sure your pants do not drag on the ground or near it. I pinned mine up a bit so that they would stay dry, so my shoes stayed dry. Also, I brought an umbrella. My Hubby said he was fine with his jacket and ballcap, and my Son said the same. I had ponchos from the dollar store but they opted not to wear them. Even with my umbrella my back pack got wet. So, remember plastic bags for your phone and camera. We had a great time. :tink:

Saturday was a light rain most of the day but today the rain was a lot heavier. The kids could barely handle Sunday and tomorrow is suppose to be the same or heavier. We have one more day left but due to the heavy rain will be leaving tomorrow. The good news is over the last two days we were able to ride all the rides.

We had rain jackets and umbrellas and did fine. We also wore tennis shoes and they were good. Saw tons and tons of rain boots. Also saw Uggs and they were soaked. Not quite the right boot for rain!

Disney was selling ponchos hand over fist.

Bring extra socks and ditto about not having your pants hit the ground. I can only imagine how the next few days are going to be there.

Oh, YUCK! Wet UGGS? Bleh! Nasty! LOL!

The rain has been relentless. Just brutal. Heavy downpours. Sideways rain. Ugh. If you want DLR without the locals, NOW is your chance. I feel for those of you with trips planned right now and apologize for So. Cal.'s current weather. This IS the rainy season, but egads - I can't remember the last time we had rain this harsh.

I went shopping the other night to go to one store to get DH's last gifts. Just going to and from the car with the umbrella, purse, and packages I got drenched, wet feet, and wet hair. Yeah, I hate the rain - and this week's rain has been R A I N.

As for Disney making money off of ponchos, I bet they'd make a lot more money if the sun came out again. Please... Mother Nature... give So Cal back our sun. Okay, how about just taking away the rain. ;)

Went to Legoland today and the park was near empty due to the rain and only about 10% of rides/attractions where operational and they closed at 2 rather than 5 as posted due to the rain as it poured all day. We where soaked to the bone. I even have a "waterproof" hacket and it soaked through the zipper area. The kids had ponchos and the rain ran off and soaked there shoes and the wifes didn't go all the way down so the bottom of her pants got soaked. But the kids had a blast. Luckily the hotel has a laundry room so we tossed everything into the dryers while we visited the hot tub.

Hoping for dry weather coming up as we will be at DL on thursday.

Looks like the rain should let up by then. :thumbsup2
I'd expect crowds though. I bet lots of folks opted to wait out the rain, but they will probably all hit the parks full force as soon as the weather breaks... that will likely be Thursday.

We went Monday since I had to finish shopping there, too. I ended up leaving my purse in the car so it didn't get ruined and then stressed about that. THe kids went into the park to play while I shopped. We were all done and over it within the first hour. I think it was the first time ever we were all wanting to leave DL. I texted dh that we were cancelling Christmas but he checked the weather and calmed me down. I had them double bag all my things so they didn't get ruined.

Well.... we are from Tn. Usually go to WDW, however, I thought the kids would enjoy southern Cali and appreciate the "original" now that they are older... plus my oldest loves the Jack Skellington characters and we have wanted to see the Haunted Mansion holiday overlay for a long time (gave up on Disney bringing it to Fl)

Arrived on Sat, 18th and are leaving today... It has not stopped raining the entire stay , except for two hours that we were in the park this morning. And we are used to the Florida showers, we expect rain on a Disney vacation... but good grief!! This has been something else... relentless would be an understatement... wet soggy pants, shoes, socks the whole bit. Went to target down the rd and the whole shoe section was wiped out of rain gear.

all the fireworks and parades were cancelled each night of our stay and my holiday tour was even cancelled.

We did get to see the World of Color (stood in rain for an hour for it to start--but it did go on) and we got to ride all the rides we wanted , except the Alice in Wonderland ride-- (of course, it was one that we don't get to ride at WDW!)

Oh well... weather... what can you do but put on your poncho and just go on?!?

Now we are sitting in the John wayne airport waiting for our flight... that has been delayed an hour now :cool1:

I'm sorry minivan3, this is definitely the worst weather I've ever seen at DLR :( Normally it rains for a bit and then stops, not that constant wetness. We had fun regardless, and it was nice to have short lines, but I was bummed about no outdoor entertainment other than WoC.

And yes - buy your raingear before you come to Anaheim. Our older daughter's rainboots split and we tried all the local spots - sold out. DH ended up getting her a rather expensive pair at Macy's. But it was necessary for that weather.

The rain is over! (for now!) We are going today for the first time this holiday season. The rain has been horrible here-worst in decades. But the forecast is for clear skies for the next few days at least.:goodvibes

Hoping it's not too bad since all but Premium AP are blocked starting today (Deluxe last day was yesterday). Not staying for too long as my DSis has to be at work at 4 a.m. tomorrow. Mostly going to see a certain reindeer in the parade. Oh, and stopping in to see Santa of course! :santa:
