Those model monorails

I have seen several people on this site mention the model monorails. I finally had to see what the fuss was all about. I think we've found a must-have for under the tree! I found them on ebay, along with a couple of hotel terminals and a handfull of attractions/rides. Couple few q's if anyone knows:

1. Most pieces are going for reasonable prices, however a little model of Alice's Teacups was up to $165. Holy chowder! This must be a supply and demand thing. Is the piece retired and if so are there other retired pieces?

2. Looked like there was a Cinderellas Castle, a Spaceship Earth, and a Sorcerer's Hat. Is there anything out/planned to come out to represent the Animal Kingdom?

3. Looks like only hotels on the monorail line were represented. Is this the case?

Thanks,
Adrianna

did you call Disney and ask them their prices? I would bet if you called them they could tell you everything that is available and the prices -

Last time I was there (Oct.) - it seems like they are trying to help you build a mini WDW so the other hotels might be coming!

2) I am not yet aware of a DAK piece. Be advised that the Castle and the sorcerer's hat (which I did not know they made) are stand alones and do not directly interact with the monorail. However, there is a model of the TTC which also allows you to switch over between three different monorail loops. If you are a Disneyland/California Adventure fan, they also made a Golden Gate bridge model that the monorail could pass through.

3) At this time, only the Contemporary, Polynesian and Grand Floridian resorts have been made. Also, they made a little add-on set that contained scaled-down signage for each resort... some of them light-up, too :sunny:

Hope this helped! ::MickeyMo

I saw a tree of Life when I was there in October - I will see if I can find a list of everything availbale
