Those Main Street Photographers

Are the digital photographers that meander up and down Main Street required to stay there? As you might know I'm tossing around a bunch of proposal ideas :hyper: , and didn't know if the photographers would be allowed to walk over to the rose garden in front of the castle.
I figure that if I explain to the photographer that I'm looking to propose in the rose garden, and would like a picture, they'd be willing to take a couple steps from where they're supposed to be (especially since this would be first thing in the morning on a non MK early entry day and the park won't be that crowded), but I don't want to get anyone in trouble.
If they can walk around, I'd be proposing this way. And I promise to post the pic after we get back in Feb. ::yes::
As always, thanks for the help.

If you contact Gst Relations they can arrange for a photographer.
MK 407-824-4521
Disney Photographic Service 407-827-5099 or 407-934-6570

I know it will a magical moment and Congratulations!!!

I don't actually know this and I certainly can't speak for Disney, but I would guess their main job is to take pictures, no matter where they are. I wouldn't think they'd want to shlep all the way over to the furthest reaches of the park, but I would GUESS they'd head to the Rose Garden, especially given the occasion and the extreme likelyhood of your purchasing the picture/s.

Wishing you all the best! I hope you get a resounding YES!

Thanks for the help!!! Luckily I know that Rose will say yes, so its a little bit of pressure off my shoulders.
I think I'll give the MK a call about a month out, just to make clear it with them. Hey maybe they might offer up something else I could do.

I say do it right there in the middle of Main Street--for everyone to hear. As long as you know you'll be getting the "yes", it will be a hoot. Be dramatic and get down on one knee in the middle of the street. People will love it.

Now that sounds memorable to me... :)

I agree with tjkraz! If there is one thing us brides (and brides-to-be) love, it's a little extra attention!!! Do it right there on Main St. Start walking toward the castle, ask the photographer to take your picture, when he tells you to smile, drop to your knee and do it! She'll be stunned!!!!! Plus, you won't have to explain why the photographer is following you to the castle!!!

Congratulations!

Erin :D

hAm53...I have to agree with the other two...do it the middle of Main Street...she
will LOVE it!!! ::yes::

Besides I'm afraid if you conatact Disney Photo Services they might try to sell you some outrageously priced package deal! Wedding photos cost and arm and a leg ya don't need this expense before the wedding!;)

Best of Luck... keep us posted!!!

I was thinking about proposing on Main Street, but Rose doesn't like being the center of attention. I already have strict rules of when I do propose that it can't be on a JumboTron at Shea Stadium. Plus if I propose in the Rose Garden, I don't need to worry about someone in the background that looks kinds funny. We have a picture with Mickey from our last trip that has a woman mid sneeze behind us. Every time I look at the pic, all I see is the lady.
I can use Sneezy as a reason to get her over to the Rose Garden.
The thing about them trying to sell me a photo package is a good point Worse comes to worse if the photograher says that he can't go over to the Rose Garden, I'll propose on Main Street. But I don't think that they won't walk over. I'm just gonna tell the guy to snap away, and I'll propbably end up buying every photo he takes.

The main st photographers are an outsourced company and they are required to stay on main street taking pictures at that location, part of a contract they have with wdw.

Call Gst Relations, WDW arranges proposals all the time and the cost varies as to how much you want to do. I have arranged for Prince Charming & Cinderella to be at the proposal as well as a plethora of other request. Definitely call them they will be more then glad to assist you.

I'm sure you would prefer a 'sure thing' photo taken by one of the CM's, but if that doesn't fit or work out, grab someone passing by and ask them to take your picture with your camera--there are many who would be happy to do that.

One big BUT--pick someone who has a camera hanging around their neck...they may be more likely to take a good picture.

Good luck--great ideas everyone!

Thanks again for all the help everyone! I'm going to give the MK Guest Relations a call around the 90 day mark to see what they say about the photographers. Thanks to Grumpy for the number!
I think if I'm shot down there, and I don't have anything planned, I might ask a CM that I see around the Rose Garden that Day if they can take the pic. I figure that they're used to taking pics. Rose actually has a phobia about who takes the pics, and will actually volunteer me to take other family's photos (I've been published a couple times), so I totally understand what Goldengirl is saying.
Now if I could only arrange for ::MickeyMo to be there too. At least he'll be at the wedding.
