with the pictures on them...which are popular FE gifts:

I have looked and found many different answers to this question in myriad sites. Which glue do you use to attach the photo to the clear glass bead so it wont wrinkle, run, etc and which to attach magnet to that photo?
Also, which paper is best used for pictures...not photo stock, i presume.

Many thanx!

I love Sgt. Schultz! My wife used Modge Podge for the picture on the glass and I think her glue gun for the magnet.

you get clear glass half beads (any craft store and most dollar stores), cut out tiny pictures from magazines, printed by puter, etc, glue them to beads and beads act like magnifier....put magnetic circle on back and...viola!...cool fridge ornament or FE gift...do google search for glass half beads...something should pop up.
and club disney, thanx for info...are u certain about hot glue? no damage?

Is you second question about making picture magnets to hang on your fridge or the door on DCL? For that you buy magnet "paper" and print directly on it. I bought my "paper" on amazon.

Are you talking about these? http://www.littlehomesteaders.com/2013/11/diy-glass-magnets/ (Disclaimer, I don't know anything about the blog/blogger; I just did an internet search and this was the first one that came up w/ decent pics and instructions). If you want to use your own images, print them in color on regular paper (not copy/photo paper). And it has to be done on a laser printer (or photocopied)- ink jet printing will run when you use the Mod Podge (unless you "set it" first w/ another product). The key w/ any kind of decoupaging project is to use a THIN COAT- do multiple coats if necessary (allow to dry in-between), but don't use too much at a time.

Edited to add: The link I posted suggests a specific size glass and hole puncher, but you can use any size (obviously) and as long as you've glue it down well (and let it completely dry), you'll have no problem trimming the excess paper w/ a sharp x-acto knife.

I still don't get it. Craft store beads are so small....??

These are what we're talking about, it's a close up to see details and the other, for perspective, is my laundry room refrigerator so it's not quite full size but is larger than an apartment refrigerator.

yeah...those!....biggest I've ever seen are 1/2" diameter.....i. personally, think they r cool and would be a fun fe craft for my DGDs...In reading the many instructions, including that youietubie place, I never came across modge podge as the glue for the photos...usually reference to some sort of silicone glue.....
if regular paper with ink jet runs, i'm screwed...pretty much

and, as an answer to mmfox (above) no, not magnetic paper stuff....those beads as described and pictured.

thanks to all.

surprised that there aren't more voices of authority on this topic.......
