Those darn rare characters

Hello Dis. I don't really intend on being an active member, but you all seem like you know what you're talking about and I need to ask a question. When it comes to EXTREMELY rare characters, if you don't go during a holiday, what are the chances to meet them? I'm bringing my nine year old son to the World for the first time in September, and he's really looking forward to meeting characters that I honestly don't think come out. Off the top of my head he wants to meet:

Jack Skellington-Nightmare Before Christmas

Hades/Megara/Panic-Hercules

Ratcliffe-Pocahontas

Maleficent-Sleeping Beauty

Brer Fox-Song Of The South

Violet/Frozone-The Incredibles

I'd appreciate any help. Thanks.

Also brer fox I met outside splash mountain one year, I think it was opening year

I havnt seen pain or panic since the hercules parade at mgm

As for the rest your right they are going to be tough but you never know. GR can tell you what and where the characters are for that day.

Jack Skellington-Nightmare Before Christmas: don't know sorry.

Hades/Megara/Panic-Hercules: Hades you'll see in the Studios parade, I've seen Megara before but understand she hasn't been out for a while in the Studios (she's on the boat at the end of Fantasmic though).

Ratcliffe-Pocahontas: I've seen him at Halloween in Paris - not sure about WDW.

Maleficent-Sleeping Beauty: As above, and it was the happiest moment ever!

Brer Fox-Song Of The South: You can see Brer Fox by Splash Mtn.

Violet/Frozone-The Incredibles: Frozone was out with Mr and Mrs Incredible in the Art of Animation at the Studios last month.

We saw Frozone and Mrs. Incredible right outside Playhouse Disney show as it was emptying at 10:00 at MGM in June.

We saw Ratcliffe near Haunted Mansion during the early evening at Magic Kingdom in June also.

I met Maleficent at Mickey's Toon Town Fayre last year. I was soooo excited but then she told me off for wearing my sunglasses in the picutre

I was more excited about meeting Mary Poppins in Epcot though. Waiting for Mary was the longest wait we had all holiday

Don't know about the others, but I saw Ratcliffe twice at MK on Main Street (in the square part) in April towards the evening. Maybe try there?

There has been talk of Tink in both a character breakfest and maybe at theparks but thats it just talk.

She is in the DL parade on a float with Peter.

We will see when the DVD comes out how far they push the new Fairies line at that time.

This info is from last fall, but we saw Ratcliffe in front of the castle during evening EMH, and Megara in the Crossroads area at MGM, but they seem to have stopped using that area for greets.

Jack Skellington & Violet aren't meet & greet characters.

Pain & Panic used to appear at the halloween party, but weren't there last year.



TDC Nala - Kronk doesn't seem to get out much, but I've read reports that he appears occasionally at MGM.

Does Boo ever appear with Mike and Sully? We saw her in the parade at California Adventure, but I have a serious Monsters Inc fan in my house!

I do wish they would rotate the characters more often. On our last trip, we saw Pluto and practically the enitre case of Pinocchio everywhere but never once saw a glimpse of Daisy Duck, for example.

I hope to meet Scrooge! I think my ds is Scrooge's biggest fan. I hope Scrooge is out at MNSSHP.

Dd would love to see Figment in Epcot.

We're going to MNSSHP this year - I'm hoping we get to meet lots of villains! would be great, so would Hades, Pain and Panic. I'm also looking forward to the parade!

That is a HARD list of characters, no doubt!! Maleficent is almost always at the Halloween parties. In the last few years at the party, she's been by the Castle. And she was in Fantasyland recently, too, but VERY rare!

I actually did meet Panic (with Pain) at the Halloween party back in 2003, but I haven't read of anyone seeing him since! I don't even know if he gets out on normal parks days.

Many people reported seeing Brer Fox at the exit to Splash Mountain in the last couple of months.

Jack Skellington has not been a meetable character at Disney World, there have been rumors but nothing as of yet ...!

Hercules and Meg used to be out at MGM often, but for some reason, they have drifted into obscurity! If they were out, the best place to look would be the Big Hat at MGM. Hades has not been a meetable character anytime in recent years.

Ratcliffe does get out at MK, so you might have a shot! We seen him by the ToonTown Train Station, but that location is sporatically used. We saw him on a late Extra Magic Hour night by the Castle, too.

Frozone and Mr. and Mrs. Incredible are often meeting inside the Magic of Disney Animation Building at MGM. You can get to the room by going into the gift shop (it's to the right of the entrance to the Magic of Disney Animation Tour as you approach) and going to the hallway in the back of the gift shop, and follow it to the character meeting room. Frozone was always the rarest Incredible, but many people reported seeing him there recently.

You can always ask at Guest Services, as they could be helpful with characters like Ratcliffe and Brer Fox and Frozone. Really rare characters they usually have no clue!

I second the "visit guest services" they can call the character hotline for you each morning and give you times/parks/locations where those characters will be appearing (if they are out that day).

Ratcliffe-Pocahontas- Can sometimes be found in Liberty Square

Maleficent-Sleeping Beauty- VERY rare. best bet holiday parties

Brer Fox-Song Of The South- can be found by Splash Mountain

Violet/Frozone-The Incredibles- No Violet. Frozone can be found in the Animation Building with Mr. and Mrs. Incredible.
