I finally saw the ending where Dane and then Ralph die. What a lousy ending!  At least they could have showed Justine getting married and living happily ever after and maybe Meg enjoying her grandkids. :sad2: :sad2: :sad2: BOOOOOO!!!!!

Read the book. Its better than the mini they show on TV. Its been ages since Ive seen it or read the book for that matter. But I remember the book being way, way better.

I never had a problem with the ending though.

I read the book first and then saw the show and was so disappointed. The book is absolutely wonderful.

The mini series is soooo, so bad compared to the book. I wouldn't bother with the book, go straight to the movie. Gone With The Wind is a better book than movie too (She had more kids than Bonnie), but at least the movie is good also.

What always bothered me about the way they ended the mini-series (as opposed to the book) was that they just made Meggie look vindictive in telling Ralph that Dane was his son. (Of course, the dope should have known it all along  ) In the book, the ONLY reason Meggie tells him is because it's the ONLY way she can get Dane's body released to her after his death. It just seemed so ridiculous to me that they couldn't follow the book's ending.

The book was wonderful.

Richard Chamberlain was just so yummy!!

Richard's make up in the last episode was AWFUL!!!!

When the mini series came out (I was in high school) I loved it.
Now when I see it I think that there was some seriously bad acting going on.
Also the kisses (between Ralph and Meggie) seem not very passionate to me -I think it is because I know that he HATED doing those scenes.

Add in another person who thought the book was far better then the mini series.

I LOVED the book, but I must admit, I loved the mini series too. Of course, I was about 13 when I watched it, so I wasn't at the top of my critical game. ;)

I'm proud to say I also watch the sequal with Amanda Donohue. Can you claim that?? Talk about your waste of time...
