Thomas Cook and Disney conf number

A colleague of mine has booked with TC for next year staying at Animal Kingdom lodge with flights, tickets, free dining etc etc and has been told that they (Thomas Cook) can't give him his Disney confirmation number until 180 days from departure.

Never having used Thomas Cook myself can anyone here confirm or deny this information and if it's not the case can you tell me what I should advise my colleague.

We booked with Thomas Cook last July for our holiday in August this year, and the store emailed our Disney Confirmation number end of August last year, so practically a year in advance! We never asked for the number, we just had an email one day from the store advising us of the number.

Maybe suggest to your colleague that he asks TC again, as he will need the number to make any dining reservations which will open at 180 days, so no good them giving him the number then!!

Ok so when Thomas Cook sends your friend their confimation letter, which is usually immediately after booking, there will be a section about "What to do next" and Advanced Passenger Information API, within that first paragraph will be "Enter your holiday booking reference which is ********. That's the Disney confirmation number. I booked 12 months out and logged into MDE immediately and my booking was showing. Maybe the agent is confused when you ask for "Disney ref"...bless 'em

I agree with Julia the TC booking reference our families were given in email and letter was good for linking MDE. I am not sure when the bookings are passed from TC to Disney and put on Disney system
