to the OP...I AM shocked & amazed! I thought that stuff only happened in the soaps. Maybe you should think about moving. I think you're right in thinking about the effects of this on your son. What if he sees Julies daddy kissing Sam's mommy? And so on and so on. How the heck can you ever explain that!!??

Bizarre...my reply is missing too...and all I said was 'I wondered what the church would think of her extra curricular activities' after you said her kids went to Catholic School...she sure doesn't sound like someone I would want going to MY church. Now let's see if this gets deleted too???

Don't feel too bad...that hora IS a realtor..I think I will have my friends call her and make tons of appointments..and NO I don't feel bad about that! Mess with my kids...and expect the worst.

I know of no scanner at least available to the public that will let you listen to digital cell phones only analog. So if you have a very old analog cellphone or were using a cordles landline, they could possible listen but the newer cellphones are all digital.

I have cordless phones in my home and my cell phone is 3 years old.....I don't know if that is considered old.

I would think if your phone is only 3 years old that it is digital. I suspect she may have just overheard your conversation but not through a scanner but in person, or she was bluffing. You can usually tell the old analog phones as they get very hot when you talk very long on them.

She came into my yard.... I was watering the azaleas, it has been really dry here..so I was giving them relief. She came in the yard while I had hose in hand...I should have shot her...hind sight 20/20

#1 these are NOT the type of people you want your kids around. And they are too close now.
#2 you won't move to the same situation if you do your homework on the neighbors OR stay out of subdivisions. I don't live in one for just that reason, too close for comfort.
#3 if you can't be happy at home, you have NOTHING.

Gosh I didn't know those kind of things still go on in subdivisions. I thought that stuff died in the 70's.

I'm not sure that moving is the answer. You are always going to run into some sort of problem wherever you live. I mean there are always weird people out there - everywhere.

If it was just me with no kids, I'd be staying there and calling everyone I know and talking about these people, so they could sit there my their scanner and fume. It would entertain me, but I have a warped sense of humor.

This just cracked me up. We think alike - I thought the same thing. "Let's Give 'Em Something to Talk About"

Poor kid. Moving is a bit of a drastic reaction.

I'd have a chat with him and reassure him about his size, before the kid starts on him. I don't know if I'd "pre-warn" him about teasing, because maybe the kid has better sense than the mom, and won't bother him.

Luckily, they don't go to the same school, which is where most of his time will be spent.

Easy enough to ignore him around the neighborhood.

I did not read all the replies, so if I have repeated what someone else said, I am sorry!

I would move; with only 10 years left, you should have a lot of equity in the home and you could just get a 15 year mortgage.

That lady sounds scarey! No way would I stay around that!
