Did you see the smile on that guys face? I have the "warm fuzzies" I am so glad they are getting them, I havent heard anything from the ones I sent out, but hey, they ARE pretty busy.
I haven't heard back from the young woman and two young men to whom I sent packages yet. They probably haven't even arrived yet.
I notice this was written before war was declared. It's still good to know that the recipients of our care packages will have big smiles when they do receive their packages.
Today I was shopping for our 3 adopted Marines serving with Bobby. It felt great - doing something other than praying and crying and wondering what is really happening over there. Then, out of the blue the store manager approached and asked who all the goodies were for - a school party for my 11 year old he inquired? When I told him he just beamed. Said their store was sponsoring an Army unit also now in Iraq. We shared a very special moment and I left that store beaming.
I sure hope that Bobby & Nick like what I sent in their care packages! It is great to read that they are so excited to receive packages in the mail. It's the very least we can do!
I sent my hubby a care package when he was deployed several years ago. I had some space left in my box and I was searching for something to fill it with when I spied a bag of Doritos on the shelf. It fit perfectly! I figured the chips would be completely destroyed by the time the box arrived but was hoping the bad would stay "inflated" to take up the space.
It turns out I was right, the chips were destroyed--Doritos Dust and he ate every bit of it!
