This will be the longest summer ever! - PTR 9/29-10/6

I just realized that there are only 7 more weekends until our trip! That's like no time at all! Of course then I get a little sad thinking that it will be here and over before we know it. We haven't even been but we've already talked about going back someday. Not next year, but maybe in 2014. We shall see I guess.

Crazy busy work week. I logged 59 hours which I think was the most I've ever worked in one week. On a brighter note, my son came home last night after being at his dad's since July 19th. So, it was a wonderful ending to the week.

So, with only 7 weekends left, I better get to working on some of the random things. I need to finish our traveling shirts and Halloween shirts. The Halloween shirts are on my list of things to get done this weekend. I also need to book our hotel for the night before we leave and the night we get back. Actually I'll have to wait until I can discuss it with my husband on whether he wants to drive back home the Saturday we fly in or wait until Sunday.

I also need to make a shopping list of things I still need to buy, gather, make for the trip. Like I know we need to buy my son a new suitcase because his broke awhile ago but if I don't write it down I'll forget until I go to pack.

I love those shirts. Did you make those? What kind of stuff do you make on your Etsy shop? I love Etsy! There are some really cute things on there. And WOW at that cake you made!

Hey there! I did make that shirt. I just started embroidering and really enjoy it. I have at least 9 more shirts I need to work on. I should start that but no ambition right now

I love Etsy too! I usually spend most of my Etsy earnings on buying stuff from there. I just realized I opened my Etsy shop almost 1 year ago (August 7th) I do pretty decent for something I do in my free time and for fun. In the past year I've had 67 sales and made almost $2,000 on Etsy. That doesnt include other orders outside of Etsy either.

I have a bit of crafting ADD and do a little of everything

This is one of my biggest sellers and I've probably made 30-40 in the past year

I love the stuff you made! The My Stache jar made me laugh. That's really cute. What's the link to your Etsy shop?

I've been eyeing new lugagge too. Literally, I work for AAA and sit right next to a luggage display LOL. The handle on mine broke and I need a new suitcase!

OMG 7 weekends? Well since it's Monday does that now mean only 6 more weekends? That sounds so close! 55 days!!!! Eeeeee! :dance3:

I actually asked my parents for luggage for Christmas. So my boys have matching blue plaid suitcases and my daughter and I have Pink circles. :cheer2: Should be easier to find on the luggage belt in the sea of black ones! lol

We booked the same hotel for the day we get back from Orlando. Figure we can go to Mall of America again (if the kids aren't too tired) and then drive home the next morning! It's about a 7.5 hour drive for us. Hopefully the border crossing will go fast and smoothly.

Finally! Work is starting to die down for awhile. Or maybe it just seemed that way today since I spent all morning training my boss how to do my beginning of the month reports and then I left for the day at 2:30pm. I had to take the little guy to get signed up for orchestra and to pick out his instrument. He went with the violin. When we got there, he was the only one that chose the violin, everyone else had chosen the cello.

Im really thinking that besides the visitation schedule with his dad, all his DR appointments, intramurals, and orchestra that we need to invest in a family calendar so everyone knows what is going on when. Im already confused!

One thing I do know for sure is that in 25 days we will be at WDW!!!! Honestly, I wish I could explain how exciting this is to me and why this trip means so much. I grew up not only in a military family where our only vacations were to see family that lived elsewhere, I also grew up pretty poor. There was no money for extras and there definitely wouldnt have been money for a trip like this. And then once I became an adult and I had my son, I wanted to do things for him but I was a young single mother for 7 years working full time and going to college. I earned my Bachelors degree when he was 6 and my Masters when he was 8. There wasn't enough to time to sleep and there definitely wasnt enough money for a trip of any kind. So, to me this really could be a once in a lifetime trip. Wow that was some rambling there lol

Anyways I really need to write a list of what is left to get/do. There really isnt much besides pack which I wont until the day we leave and I want to get together some pennies and quarters for pressed pennies.

Oh and I suppose we should talk to my MIL about what days we will see her when we are there. Shes so crazy! She's actually coming to see us in a few weeks and leaves to go back to FL 5 days before we get there. Guess she won't be lying when she tells us she'll see us soon!

Oh and here is the last shirt Im making for the little guy. No more he has enough between the ones Ive made and the ones Ive bought!

Cute shirt!
You should be very proud of yourself and how much you have accomplished over the years! Enjoy this vacation, it's well deserved!!!:thumbsup2

I am absolutely horrible at updating in here.

Life here is so crazy busy. My son has settled into 4th grade nicely and is keeping us busy with homework, violin, and intramurals. My MIL is here visiting right now. She flies back to Orlando on Friday. It's been so great having her here. It's always a bit sad to see her go. But, at least it will only be a little over a week before we get to see her again.

We can actually say, we are heading to Disney NEXT WEEK! The bad part about that is it will be here and gone before we know it. At least hockey season is starting soon so we'll have that to occupy us as well.

I suppose I should make up some type of packing list. I think I'm pretty much done buying stuff and making things for the trip. Waiting to see what the weather will be like. I should pick up a light weight zip up to bring. One of our salesmen at work told me to make sure I bring one because no one wants to spend the money to buy one there just because you're cold. He said he had to buy one once and it Grumpy on it because he was "grumpy" that he has spend that much money on a sweatshirt. I got my son the cutest lightweight Mickey pullover at Target. I'll have to remind my husband to pack something too. He doesnt think about things like that. It was freezing here yesterday. I was wearing long sleeves and jeans and he was wearing shorts, t shirt, and sandals.

I do have to say that seeing all the threads and blog updates about MNSSHP have me even more excited to go. That is the thing I am looking forward to the most.

I'm working on the packing thing too! It was freezing here today but I'm looking at the weather in Orlando and it's still HOT HOT HOT everyday. So I've already packed all the shorts and summer stuff in the suitcases. I bought new socks for the boys today.

YAY I am also really excited for MNSSHP! :yay:

And unfortunately unless NHL and the players agree on something soon....there will be no hockey! :sad2: Very sad!

I was in Minneapolis in spring this year to see the Winnipeg Jets play the Minnesota Wild. It was a great game. And WE won! :cheer2: It was so much fun and I want to do it again next year! :yay:
