This Weekend - What are the chances?

What are the chances that we can get ANYSIZE room at ANY DVC RESORT this weekend (starting Saturday night). We would probably try to stay thru Tuesday or Wednesday.

We just found out that my dw's father has passed away. He lived in Avon Park, FL (a couple hours south of WDW). We can not stay with family, as there will not be enough room. We are trying to save some money, so I will call DVC in the morning.

Sorry about your father in law. Hope it works out for you. FWIW, I think you have a chance getting something at a DVC resort, since the Easter crowds will be gone. Hope you can find some decent airfare.

Sorry to hear about your father in law....our condolences.

I would think you would be able to get something!!! Try SSR and OKW, they almost always have something. Another thing you might try is call your guide and see if she can do anything. I haven't personally done that, but have talked to people who have and they were able to get accomodations.


We did a last minute trip last May and were able to get a room. Watch the airfares, they are really getting very expensive.

We were able to book an SSR Studio for Sat - Wed. Not bad for a 5 day lead time.

Airfare is pretty much out of the question right now. We do not have a lot of extra cash these days as we just moved and bought a new house two weeks ago.

We are going to drive, and we may spend one day at the MK for the four year old!

Sorry to hear of your loss. Also sorry to see you are leaving our old "stomping grounds" of Savage! We moved down the road to Lakeville last year.

It is funny how death can create opportunites both ways. Your success in getting a ressie for this weekend could very well be a result of my friends loss. He and his family arrived last Friday(4/14) at SSR for a 9 day vacation. He got the call early Sat morning that his father passed away back in Boston. He spent Sat changing flights and flew the family home yesterday and had to cancel the rest of his vacation at SSR.
