Yep. Which makes it really hard to type the name of the actor who played "Burt" in Mary Poppins. :rotfl2:

Well, sadly, my show closed last night. Glad it was a success, truly an exhausting experience each show, don't know why I put myself to the torture, but I must like it.
Now, I will re-introduce myself the the board.

What show were you doing?

Scott and I are currently in rehearsals for Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, the musical. I'm stage managing, and Scott's playing the John Lithgow role. We're having SO much fun! :hyper:

We did a Yuletide farce called "Sorry! Wrong Chimney!" Theater in my area is lacking and I am trying to broaden their horizon, but farces are what they want to do.
I miss the bigger cities where you had great resources to do all kinds of shows.

What's this? Are we talking THEATRE?? :dance3:

DS has an audition tomorrow. Hoping it goes well! He is excited. Call-backs will be Wednesday, if he is fortunate enough to be called back. He has a show Thursday and Friday - his first performance in high school.

Rob, glad you guys are enjoying your rehearsals! :thumbsup2

If I may ask, where are you? DP grew up in Watertown and went to Crane. I have an old family friend that founded BluSeed Studios up in Saranac. I've never made it up there but do keep up with her on FaceBook and check the website once in awhile.

The group is in Watertown, I live north about 30 minutes. We have two groups here, one that does musicals (mostly R&H) and are having trouble with funding. The other group does the plays and just lost their space, we are just bouncing around looking for a new home.

Well, comedies and musicals are what sell!

I feel your pain. There are a couple of serious dramas I'd love to do, but I keep getting told "no one would come to that".

If you're looking for another yuletide farce next year, Inspecting Carol by Daniel Sullivan is a great one!:thumbsup2

DVC Dan, keep us posted here what you do or send me a pm. Maybe when we're up to visit the in laws we can leave the kids and come see a show. They're in Mryrtle Beach 'til April 1st. But we come up a few times between April and November.

Last summer we went to an Arts Festival in Thompson Park, which I thought was pretty impressive (I believe it got moved to the sqaure this past summer). It seems like there's a good group of people trying to keep the arts alive.

Ooops. Off Topic, or was there a topic?

I first found the Disney boards when I was planning a trip to WDW in 2009. That's when I stumbled upon Rob and Scott's wedding thread. I loved reading it but there was this jerk Wally who had such rude comments. It took a little time to figure out that Wally wasn't a jerk, just a wise ***.

Oh no ... I'm a Jerk.
I'm never opposed to a good jerking! ;)

I think I NEED to go see it!

I've heard of that show. My next project is going to be Rabbit Hole, I forced them to read the show and now they want to do it. It should be sometime next year.

Yep, it was on the Square this year. I never made it, but the group is working hard, unfortunately they are struggling too. It would be nice if everyone could work together.
I will definitely keep you informed, hope you can make it to one of the shows, they do have some talented people.

Sounds interesting. I've just read "It's a wonderful Gay life"

I like it when a group comes together and just lets their jerk out.

LOL - I don't think I have anything to add to that.
Nothing that won't get me Points.
