Ok, so my religious student organization (it is Christian, not getting into denominations on this, as I don't think it's that important) had a huge BBQ fundraiser today. As in we cooked lots and lots of pig. Ok, so I sat outside and did the money thing all day, which was good. I like that part. Anyway, this guy's acting a little weird and he keeps coming by the table and giving me a hard time for eating "The Hog." I see that his guitar case says "Get right with God" and with the tones in his voice, I pick up a little on that extreme Christian vibe...We all know the type...So he comes by one time and I was alone at the table. I got a little scared, so I radioed for someone to get out there with me RIGHT THEN and by the time he got out there, this guy was asking me if I was saved from my sins, if I'd felt the healing salvation of the Lord, etc, etc, etc...Well, I'm pretty sure I wouldn't be outside in the hot sun all day for fun. I will do it to raise money to promote God's work (send students on summer missions projects all over the world).....So that goes on and he finally leaves. While he's talking to me however, this girl (that I thought was a boy in my class last summer, but that's another story) has a MOUSE, a REAL ONE on her shoulder and started feeding it the guy's cheetos that was helping me at the table earlier....EW!! Then she put the mouse in her FANNY PACK!! Ugh...Basically I felt like this guy was trying to convert a Christian to Christianity....I didn't mind the conversation at all, but when I've got a line of people trying to give me money for their lunch...it's a little weird. Anyway, just thought I'd share. Please, this is not a religious debate or anything, just sharing my weird day.
