This time we did it right! (Updated 3/2!)

You said the rain was coming and it did:scared1:

It didn't seem to hold you up too much. :thumbsup2

A dream? Did we know that was coming? Cool.

I think that's why ABC gets a bad rep. Their hamburgers are terrible. However, I like everything else on their menu. :thumbsup2

My cousin has had 2 kids and still loves TOT and RnRC, I think you'll be okay. ;)

I will always remember the Studios as being wet! We were in a monsoon there one night too! And it is very difficult to take pictures in the rain!

I have a lot more fears after having kids too... But I'll always love ToT & RnRC!! :goodvibes

Ok I'm caught up again! :goodvibes

I love the night viewing story. Do you have to be staying at AKL to see it? I would love to head over there some night.

Can you believe the rain there in October? Thats the only nice thing about going in the summer. Yes it rains everyday but its at 3 oclock and only lasts 30 minutes. I couldnt believe the rain storms in Oct. :confused3

Sorry you had such a crappy meal at the ABC. I've never been there but I guess thats a good thing. lol

Can't wait to hear how you got that dream fast pass!!!!

Oh, the rain came alright. And there's definitely more to come. :scared1:

I put a teaser pic of the dream FP on my pretrip when I posted a link to my TR. Maybe all that tequila is ruining your memory!

If I ever go back to ABC, I'll be sure to try anything BUT a burger!

I think it has rained every time I have seen Fantasmic! Must be something about that park...

I'm happy to know not everyone goes from a ToT lover to a ToT hater after having kids. If that were the case, I might change my mind about wanting kids! :lmao:

Thanks for reading and catching up! You don't have to be an AKL guest to do night viewing. Next time you're there, I would just call AKL and ask what time the night viewing is happening. Then, when you get there, ask at the front desk where the night viewing is and they'll tell you. It is absolutely worth a special trip to do it. And maybe you can sneak in a Boma dinner. Yum!

Oh, that rain was almost too much to deal with! I remember from your TR that you had a super rainy MNSSHP night. We did too! It was nuts.

I just booked AKL for a weekend trip in February thanks to your report! :thumbsup2

Yay! :yay:

You will LOVE it!

Be sure to do the night viewing!

And say hello to all my friends for me.

Hi everyone!

My next Disney trip is at Thanksgiving of next year. My mom wants to stay in a value resort to save money for shopping. So we'll all be staying at POP century. I've stayed at POP before, but I don't remember much about the room locations or anything.

Can anyone share with me what the best rooms are? And any other special requests we should make when we reserve? Also, what's the refrigerator situation at POP?

Thanks so much, all my DIS friends!

J,

I don't think it's the tekillya that's ruining my memory...it's old age.

Pop....I liked being in the 60's buildings, but on the side facing the lake and not the pool. It's standard rate which is nice. I was in 5115 on the 1st floor.
It was a great location because it was still close to Everything Pop/Classic Hall and Petals Bar/Pool and not too far from the bus stops. For being so close to the pool it was very quiet. You might ask for a room on the 4th floor so you don't have people on top of you.

I'm staying there in Feb for the 1st 3 nights of my trip and again the last 2 nights. So I may have more information about room locations after that trip. I'm hoping to be able to get in the same general vicinity as my last trip, but I really don't care.

Rooms are small and the beds are doubles.....so you may take that into consideration. It ain't no AKL. I can't imagine more than 2 adults being in there, but I know people do it all the time....I'd do it if it meant being able to stay onsite rather than offsite.

Oh and about the fridge situation. It's 10-15/night for a fridge.

There is also a fridge swap, but I had seen somewhere that someone had stolen the fridge...or it broke or something....sorry, the memory thing again.

Oh! A Dream! Can't wait to hear! Looks like you almost drowned - I know how it is to be crabby when you're cold! I don't like cold - there should be a law about too much A/C! Sometimes I won't even go into a place if I open the door and it feels too cold! :rotfl2:

As for "mommy fears" - I think you feel that way in the beginning cuz you just don't know who could care for them like you do - then you learn to relax and have fun! :thumbsup2

Oh, thanks for the info! You're awesome.

I will look forward to hearing any new info you have after your trip.

I think we'll only be doing 2 adults to a room, maybe 4 if my broke brother and his soon to be wife come along! We want them to come, but we'll probably be paying much of their expenses if they come with. And we're not about to pay for 2 rooms!

Maybe we'll rent a fridge for just one of the rooms.

Who the heck would steal a fridge? :confused3

It's not the tequila, huh? What step is denial?

I felt like we almost drowned. After living in the desert for two years, I feel like i made up for all the rain I've missed! And you're right, A/C is evil sometimes.

Well, I hope Beth's fears go away cuz I know we'll be going to Disney together many more times. And I hope she goes on ToT with me.

I'll just have to watch for the mommy fears when we have kids, and try to tell myself they're irrational!

When I left off, Sarah and Jason were on RnRC. Beth and I were hanging out outside RnRC, chatting and people watching.

A bunch of groups of people walked passed us and they all had Dream Fastpasses on their necks. I got more and more envious with each person I saw with a Dream FP. Finally, I stopped one of the groups and asked “Where did you guys get those?” One of the women went into a very long, detailed explanation of how you can’t buy them and you just have to happen to run into the dream team. Yeah, lady, I know all about it! Just tell me where you got them!

And you know what? She handed one of the Dream FPs over to me! :woohoo: She said their group got an extra one somehow and they didn’t need it, so it was mine!

Despite the fact that it didn’t come from the Dream Team, it felt great to look at it and hold it in my hands and wear it around my neck. :cloud9:

Also, since there was only one dream FP, it didn’t do us much good, cuz we were a group of 4. I told Beth I was going to give it to someone else and spread the magic. She convinced me to keep it as a souvenir. So I kept it. Instead, we gave away the two ToT FPs we had left over from the morning.

When Sarah and Jason got off RnRC, Beth and I, of course, told them that we ran into the dream team and that we got Dream FPs. :lmao: They were so bummed that they missed out. Then we told them the truth.

Next, it was over to One Man’s Dream, an attraction I have never seen before. I cried no less than 4 times while perusing this attraction. I loved it and I now have a new appreciation for Disneyland. Although I have never been to DL, I have always thought that it must be inferior to WDW. I now realize that that’s not true and I really want to go to DL!

This is a random pic Beth took in One Man's Dream...I'm not sure why.

After One Man’s Dream, suddenly, Sarah, Beth, and Jason were all on their cell phones. I kid you not…all three of them on their cell phones at the same time. I did some looking in the shops while they jabbered away.

After the phone calls, we headed over to the Animation Academy. I was looking forward to this so much! I never knew about it, but then heard about it on the DIS. The character that was chosen by the group was Minnie Mouse.

And here are the results:

I was quite proud of my masterpiece. So proud, in fact, that it’s hanging on my refrigerator to this day. Every visitor to my house is informed (by yours truly) that I drew that picture.

Next up: Have you met Beverly?

After the Animation Academy, it was about 5 p.m. and Sarah and I were ready for a change of scenery! We had been at MGM since rope drop and it was time to switch it up.

We all agreed to go back to the Food and Wine Festival, so we headed back to the car. Jason was dying to eat at one of the sit-down restaurants at World Showcase, so I called and saw what had openings. He really wanted to eat in Norway, and Akershus (sp?) had an opening at a great time, but with the fixed price and the fact that it was princess dining, Jason changed his mind. His second choice was Restaurant Marrakesh. I asked about that one, and they also had a great time open (6:45, I think). So we snatched up that reservation and headed over to Epcot.

On the way in, I decided to be photoshoot director.

“Show me how you felt the first time you came to Disney World.”

PA290060.jpg

“Show me how you felt the first time you walked into a park on this trip.”

PA290061.jpg

“Show me how you feel about the Dream Team missing us every time.”

PA290062.jpg

"Show me an artistic representation of "Food and Wine Festival"

PA290056.jpg

“Show me the first letter of your favorite thing at Disney World so far.”

PA290065.jpg

Can anyone guess what each person is spelling or what their favorite thing is? Well, I’ll tell you!

Jason’s is an “S” for World Showcase.

Sarah’s is a “J” for Julie. (That’s me!)

Beth’s is an I don’t know what. I can’t remember what it was!

Oh, and I just have to tell a little story. When I asked for their reactions the first time they came to Disney World, Beth started shrieking and clapping and going crazy. We (she) got a lot of strange looks from people!

It was onto Club Cool after the photoshoot.

I was so patient about getting to Beverly! I let Sarah try every one just as she would normally. When she got to Beverly, I slyly got my camera ready and here it is!

PA290066.jpg

Jason had to try it again just for kicks.

Oh, here's an extra pic of the girls:

Next up: A very stinky dinner at Marrakesh.

Oh my gosh. I love this trip report. It's been a crappy night and you cheer me up instantly. You are so hysterical.

Wait!!!! Wait a minute Arizona girl now, right? Oh crap. The irony. The reason my night was bad was because your stinky little SUNS ran around my RAPS tonight. Arrrrgh! They were so hot that Nash didn't even need to perform. I love Barbosa. Love him. Shhh don't tell anyone. :rotfl: Especially don't tell my truest love, Mr. Baron "I only have eyes and hops for lisaviolet" Davis.

Those are great pics, I love how you posed them! Your Minnie came out so good! How nice of that lady to give you her FP :goodvibes

Great installments. I loved that you got a dream fastpass (no matter how you got it). I loved the Minnie Mouse drawiings (I agree with Jordan, when did Minnie get a pig nose :confused3 ?) The posed pictures were hilarious.

Your installments always make me smile. I can't wait to hear about the "very stinky dinner".

Great updates!!! I fell a little behind but I'm all caught up now and loving it, as usual. Wow, it really did POUR at MGM! I'm glad it let up a little for Epcot. How cool that you got a Dream, even if it wasn't directly from Disney. It doesn't matter, a dream's a dream, right?!

I love all of the interpretive pictures :lmao:

we recieved Dream lanyards and pin set at Epcot when we were there in September. We do not pin trade but I made my husband get one anyways so we could take them back to my niece and newphew for when they would get to come to DW they would have something fun to do (and I told their mom to buy pins off ebay and it would be a lot cheaper!!)
That same day we went to the MK about 3pm...a couple who was leaving asked us if we just got there...we did. She gave us their dream fastpasses for that day...they never needed them since everything was pretty much walk on so they gave them to us. Well we never needed them either...so we brought them home for our niece and newphew to play with (who wouldn't love to pretend play passing everybody on the rides at MK and going to the front of the line??
