.....let my MIL get to me She usually makes some comment about the way my house looks or the food and never lifts a finger to help with the clean up. She's already started on me-when she called to ask what time to come tomorrow she told me that I " always cook way too much food" I hereby promise to ignore her comments, and to be thankful for my guests who help with the clean up

Like you said, just ignore any upsetting comments, enjoy the love of your family and friends and remind yourself what a wonderful job you did making a fantastic dinner for everyone.
