is sooo good! I am going to pay for it later but since I got my stitches out today and have been a good girl all week I deserve a treat.

I'm going to up my run from 3 miles to 4. That works, right?

Of course that means I need to resist the temptation to NOT run and go out to dinner celebrating my ability to finally eat real food after a week of soup, oatmeal, bananas, etc.

I know! I had one last night, and I actually want another one today! :scared1:

I figured I needed to have it today because by the time I get around to going back there they will be gone and I will have missed it.

I had one yesterday and it was soooo yummy. my dd7 got one for the first time and she was in HEAVEN. :)

I had one on Tuesday and it was soooo good. Everyone deserves a treat once in awhile.

Amen to the Shamrock Shake!!! :goodvibes

Last year when I was in the hospital right after I had DD, my mom brought me a shamrock shake. What a nice treat that was. Have a baby, get a shake.

hmmm... might have to go get one now :woohoo:

I used to get excited every year about the shakes and then I learned how to make my own! Now, they are a regular treat in this house. DH starts going through withdrawals if we don't have mint ice cream in the freezer!

Can't put that out there and not share. lol

Just mint ice cream and milk in the blender or is there more to it?

I treated myself to a Shamrock Shake just the other day, and boy was it yummy, especially the whipped cream and cherry they put on top! :goodvibes... I don't know when they started to add that to the shakes, but it was a nice surprise :shamrock: ...

Mint ice cream
mint extract(a couple of drops,to your liking)
milk(again, depends on how thick you like it)
green food coloring(couple drops to enhance the color)

That's really all there is to it. All 3 of us like a lot of mint so I make them a bit stronger than the McD ones, but the extract is strong so I suggest trying only a small drop or 2 the first time you make one and go from there. I haven't had a McD one in about 2 years now. Hope you enjoy!

So jealous! I gave up dairy, eggs and meat for Lent so I haven't had one this season and they'll surely be gone by Easter :(

DS likes it when we add a little whipped cream and some chocolate sprinkles on top.

Ditto! I was like...cool whipped cream and a cherry on top BONUS! :lovestruc

I've gone to 4 different McDonald's around here... and all of them are out of Shamrock Shakes! :sad1: I think I have to wait until next season now.

I had a mint choc chip blizzard instead but I'm right there with ya. Once a year treat!!
Happy St. Patrick's Day everybody. years ago, I'd have been drinking Black and Tans or Jameson over ice.
