DS (9) and DD (6) and I just returned from a short spur of the moment weekend trip to the World and thought I would share my experience.
Friday - attended MNSSHP (sold out), arrived at 4 pm and the crowds were pretty crazy but ride lines were not terrible. Rode POTC, BTMRR, Magic Carpets, SM, Buzz (twice), Astro Orbiter, Tea Cups and ate dinner all before party started. When the party started the lines for the rides became almost non existent (SM, BTMRR and PP still had some waits) but the lines for trick or treating and meet and greets were crazy long. It still amazes me how many adults get a kick out of the M&G and treat trails even with no kids (but to each his own). Lucky for me my kids don't care too much for the M&G (they can see them from outside the line areas and that is enough) and they told me that they could get candy at home and did not want to waste time in the long lines. Therefore were had a great time. Rode everything in the park with the exception of PP, Belle and the Peoplemover before leaving the park at 11 pm.
Saturday - Epcot, arrived at 9 am opening and rode TT twice, Soarin twice and Mission Space twice before moving on to the World Showcase to tour the world. Being the first day of F&W it was pretty crowded. Long lines for all of the food. Enjoyed shows in Canada, GB, Italy, Japan, China. Kids enjoyed Agent P adventure. One dark spot of the day was that DS left his pin lanyard on Mission Space and after going back to look for it the CM could not find it. His was bummed. Anyway, left Epcot at 5:30 pm and rode Monorail back to MK for the evening. Took train to Frontier land and rode BTMRR 4 times. and SM 7 times (4 times back to back without getting off). This was during the early MSEP so I guess everyine was watching that. Watched Wishes from bridge near Tom Sawyer dock and then rode SM and BTMRR twice more each. While walking toward front to watch late MSEP DS drug us into the CB Jamboree. Kids had never seen it and I had not seen it since 1974 or so and now I remember why. Caught MSEP on way out and then headed to Monorail. I have never seen crowds that large at the express monorail station - backed up to gate of MK. Ran over to resort station and hopped onto first train - made one quick stop at the Contemporary and then to TTC.
Overall we had a great trip - crownds were pretty large but manageble and I was surprised that even given the crowds the rides lines were very short.
No I just have to make to through the next 3 mnths until our next trip in January for 6 days.
