Ok, here goes.

Why do you wait until we ask you to take out the trash?

Can you really not see it overflowing? Smell it?

Oh hey, and putting a new bag in would be cool too, so I don't throw slop into the bagless can.:confused3 I can almost hear DH's thoughts...well she asked me to take out the trash, not put another bag in. :lmao:

In my house I do cooking, laundry, etc which I don't mind....but trash and dishes have always been DH's realm.

Any thoughts besides "You sound like a control freak" are welcome:rotfl2:

We must have the same DH :lmao:!! The leaning tower of trash happens a lot in our house-- DH also does the dishes and keeps trying to "switch" chores with me-- he wants to do the lanudry, and have me do the dishes. I've told him that there's only one problem with that: When he doesn't do the dishes we can eat off paper plates. Unfortunately, they don't make paper clothes!! :rotfl2: He's a great man, otherwise-- an awesome daddy and a great provider and hubby, so I guess I'll stick with the leaning tower of trash and eating off paper plates. He's worth it :goodvibes. --Katie

DH is famous for the old " push the trash into the can like a human trash compactor " trick. I mean, please, bags aren't THAT expensive...just take it out already!!! He keeps thinking he can just make more room. Smell isn't much of an issue since we have a garbage disposal...but still. He's a great guy, but I cannot wait until ds is big enough to take over that job.

We're just trying to avoid being wasteful!! ;)

And what makes you think your DS will be any different, after all, he's just a man in training. lol

Here's a tip - place several unopened trash bags in the bottom of the trash can. That way, when one is removed the replacement it right there.

Okay, after I posted before about dh being the "human trash compactor" he changed the bag on his own...completely unsolicited!! I wonder if he read over my shoulder :rotfl2: I was so happy for a second...then he told me that we were out of trash bags :scared1: Oops..I guess karma just bit me!

You see, by us not noticing it, we are giving you the opportunity to have an illusion of control over us men by commanding that we take out the trash, or other small task.

its our way of appreciating you womenfolk by letting you think we really want to do what is best for the family, the household, and to please you.

but really, we are trying to see what is on sports center, or monster trucks, or MAVTV!

hehehehhehehehee

(hey....pirate!):confused3

Sounds like our house. The trash has to be overflowing or stinking for him to do it on his own. And the big can is in the garage - about 16 feet away! And he rarely puts a new bag in. Even though the box is right there. It must just be an ingrained male thing. :confused3

I guess I'm just Mr. Awesome. I change all the diapers, do all the laundry, take out the trash, do all the dishes, and do all the vacuuming. Mr. Dyson is my best friend :) All my Wife does is cook, a darn good one at that! Not all guys are bad!

Mr. Awesome! That's great.:rotfl:

I'm not saying my DH is bad, I'm just wondering about the psychology of this. That may be my problem!!

Grumpy - I'm watching sports center too...boo hoo for Tiger:sick:

Wait...DH is supposed to be taking out the trash?!?! I missed that page of the Married Manual. My DH doesn't have a sense of smell (sports injuries broke his nose too many times!), but my sense of smell is hyperactive. If that trash doesn't go out, I turn green on the spot. So, I just take that sucker out myself!

Me too.. I'm generally the one who takes the trash out. I don't know why it's a common thought that the men do it.. I had to do it as a kid and now I'm just used to it.

I am so with you. I am not above taking out the trash (I mowed the lawn today in the 90 degree weather) but DH will fill it up so high that the darn thing won't shut and then leave it. Makes me nuts. If you fill it that high or the entire kitchen smells, then empty it - I am not a maid nor am I the only one with hands.

Wow you and I must be cut from the same cloth. When I am home from work, (I travel quite a bit for my career) I do all the house work including the cooking. I know that some might say its my duty for being gone for extended amounts of time but even when I take off for half the year I do all of the house work. But i think that im a bit excessive in the fact that i dont think that others do things the way i think they should be done so i just do it myself.
