This months quiz

You don't really need DLP knowledge. You need Google.
I mean, yes, I do know many things, because I have been there a couple of times. And I have some books and read some discussion boards. But I also have to look up many things, in books, on maps I have from DLP, on Google and some sites I have put in my favourites during the past months. And still, there are answers I don't know :)

I also feel partly responsible for Jill not being able to do July, because I ended up (accidentally) stealing half of her planned questions!
Not at all Steve, it certainly made your quiz easier from my part :rotfl: - please don't feel bad. :goodvibes

My problem was work related - my normal working week is 28 hours, last month I did 158 hours in total and similar the month before, great for the bank manager but not so good for my personal life, for me it was a culmination of stress from work, giving up smoking at the same time probably didn't help either, but I just didn't feel able to commit myself to anything else.
Plus we decided to take an unplanned holiday in July.
We're going to Cornwall for a week, I'm ashamed to say I've never been there before and I'm told it's very beautiful.

I'm happy to do a quiz at some time in the future, I've got all my questions ready and a few prizes sorted too. I don't mind whether we set the questions daily or every other but agree with Quack that the answers would be better at the end, then even if you're away for a few days you still get the chance to catch up. :goodvibes

I also think that we could consider not posting all the answers until the end of the quiz.
That's an interesting thought :thumbsup2

This is great. :thumbsup2 Does anyone else have any thoughts on the quiz - all opinions welcome. :)

Before we get completely sidetracked with quiz comments I have managed to total the answers and the winner is Ware bears with 30 point 2nd is Sandra VB79 with 26 points and third is Dianetigger with 22.5 points.
If you send me your addresses a little someting will be on its way to you three.

PS I like the idea of not posting the answers so you can send the your pm late.

Well, that's a lovely surprise for me to log onto! Thank you Nikki! :goodvibes

Well done Sandra! :Pinkbounc and well done Diane! :cheer2:

So do I. :) I think it not only makes it easier for players to catch up on questions if they don't have time to play every day but it is less pressure on the quiz mistress/master.

I've never taken part in a quiz - mainly due to lack of time and being a newbie so not really knowing what is happening!! But from the sounds of it a 48 hour question sounds like a much better idea, as it can be hard to access the internet at times (woe is me at these times!)

Also I would happily be the quizmaster at some point, I've got good credentials...!

Is the problem over the summer that people are unable to take part, or that there is no quizmaster? Because if there is someone able to issue questions, then maybe its possible to issue all questions at once and have it open for the full month, then get everyone to submit all the answers at the one time sometime over the course of the month?

Just a thought!

I would also like that we get more time to snd in the answers. Otherwise, if you're out one evening, and can't look up the answer during work, you missed a day.

It's great fun! :goodvibes You just send a PM with the answer on to the quizmaster/mistress and then post on the thread that you have sent a PM. And even if you don't know the answer it is always worth a guess! I have been lucky enough to have been placed when I have thought I wouldn't have any chance because I have been sending guesses! :rotfl: The quizmaster/mistress usually arranges a little prize for the first three winners. :)

Brilliant! I have sent you a PM. :)
