I just made resv yesterday for POFQ for the OCT 6-13. We have never stayed onsite before this is just our second trip we were there last June with our two boys that our now 3 and 7. My question is the CM I talked to yesterday while making my resv ask if I would like to purchase the Mickey's Not So Scary Halloween tickets I told her that I would get back with her about that. Has anybody went that has kids around my age? Were they scared or did they enjoy it? Is it worth it? One more question is it just at MK and are the tickets just good for one night? pirate:

It is a halloween party at MK, it runs so many nights a week during the month of Oct. and the park closes on these nites early, they empty out (people who have tickets for this event get to stay in Fantasyland, i think til they re-open) Yes you buy special pass for one specific night. The kids and some adults get dressed up in costumes for halloween. There are special characters all over and a special halloween parade (the characters are all dressed in different costumes) And certain areas all over the park to collect treats! They give out treat bags for it.
Near Buzz lightyear ride, inside they do free family pictures. We had gone the first year we took our kids to Disney DD (7) and DD (8) and they were dressed as Buzz and Cinderella...............Got the cutest picture of my son with Buzz, and many precious pictures of my Daughter with Cinderella herself right by her pumpkin coach that was all lit up! It is something I think everyone should do once in their lifetime!!! Some may say the price of the tickets isnt worth it, I don`t agree. Make sure you check out which days they are incase you decide not to do it, have hopper passes and end up at epcot or MGM those nights. Plan ahead ...............have a great trip no matter what you decide!!

Can you already buy tickets? I thought they didn't go on sale to around April?

We did MNSSHP this past year-
Our almost 2 and almost 4 year old daughters really liked it. We did make an effort to stay away from the scarier villians but characters are in designated areas, not popping out from behind bushes. There is a lot of candy handed out in several locations but the five hours of access to the best attractions with a significantly reduced crowd is the best part. The night we went everything was walk-on, no wait. I have read that weekends, and of course Halloween night, are very busy and maybe not worth it for that reason. There are also special fireworks that are very cool with scarier back ground music narrated by the villians. IMO the scariest thing was the zombie looking characters representing the haunted mansion in the parade, who walked like they were dead, w/ scary makeup. It is expensive ($40.00+ per ticket) but you can be admitted 1hr before the party starts (6pm) and stay until midnight so that's almost another day in the MK. BTW we carried both girls out dead asleep!
