Would you take a small microwave with you to DW. Last time we were there my Dh and I went to shula's and I ended up with a huge 99$ lobster and couldn't finish it took it back to the resort and couldn't think of eating the cold thing. This time I thought it would be a good ideal cause we will have the kids with us with lots of leftovers and thought if we could have a way to warm it up I won't feel like we are throwing away money.:confused3

Same thing happened to us...this past summer DH & DS9 had dinner at Shula's & came back to the room (Dolphin, but switching over to BCV the next day) with the leftovers. We were on the Dining Plan (always do the DP) & I asked them, "Do you really think you're going to have any room to eat these leftovers at all during this trip?" Well they couldn't bring themselves to just leave the leftovers at Shula's, so we put them in the fridge & threw them out about 2 days later. I KNEW that would happen.

So, in answer to your question...no, we'd never consider bringing a microwave to WDW. We always do the DP, so we have no need to heat up leftovers.

When I'm on vacation, I don't want to do any type of cooking/food preparation at all. I only want to eat out.

We have one of those tiny dorm microwaves and I am actually considering bringing it (depending on space in the car!) I was thinking about it so that my kids could have breakfast in the room while I get ready. DS is always up before everyone else and likes to eat right away (mainly because he has reflux and a swallowing problem so he has to eat dinner early!) I figured with a microwave he could make some grits or otameal or something while I am getting ready.

I would check with the resort first, to see if it is allowed - microwaves use a lot of power, and certain outlets in your hotel room may not be able to take it. There should be a safety outlet in the bathroom, but if there is not enough counter space that could be a problem too. Water and microwaves do not mix!

In all of the WDW resorts I've been to, there are microwaves available in the food court.

Thats what I was thinking. Those single packs of oatmeal. stuff like that.

For oatmeal, you could get hot water by running water through your coffeemaker.
I wouldn't bring a microwave, but I'm of the mindset that a WDW is a vacation for all of us--me included, which means NO COOKING! :)

Nope, it's a fire hazard from what I've read on this and other boards. I would check with the resort and see if the outlets in the room are ok with it.

I would just use the microwaves in the foodcourt.
