This -kinda- Bugs Me

I'm getting married in Disney World this December. None of our family has actually said anything, but I have the impression that that they think it's a silly idea. DF's cousin is having a destination wedding in Aruba and that's ALL his side of the family talks about, even though our wedding is this year and his wedding is next year. Even when we're sitting right there!! They talk about how exciting it is to go to Aruba. It really hurts my feelings.

lol thats the opposite most girls would say regarding Disney it seems heh...few years back when I was dating this girl I wanted to take her to Disney for our anniversary, but she basically laughed and asked me why I would want to go somewhere for kids and not Mexico or Hawaii like real adults..ya that ended that pretty fast

And for the record, I would gladly accept a trip to Disney for any anniversary as well as for an engagement and wedding! Heck, I'd even offer to pay for it!

Indeed it is, but I would definitely want to go to Disney instead of Mexico. Hawaii might be nice someday, but for now i'm content in my disney ways!

I love this thread!!! I get used to the jokes and normally don't mind unless they are hurtful and then I get annoyed.

My husband loves going to Disney but he kinda tunes out any Disney talk after about 8 minutes (that's the longest i've noticed he's paid attention!). He calls me his 'Dis-bot'. And i'm proud to be a Dis-bot!!!

Mistyt/Somnia: So...any concrete decisions either way on the proposal??!!!

Hi my name is Carolyn and I'm a Disnaholic.

I spent THREE spring breaks at Disney World back when Disney was giving out "Spring Break Packages" to college kids. (93-94-95).

My best friend and fellow spring breaker got MARRIED at DisneyWorld in 1999 - I'm SOOO jealous. I was supposed to be the Maid of Honor but I was 40 weeks pregnant and about to pop - Doctor wouldn't let me travel. (Ask me how long it took me to forgive her for planning her wedding right then?)

My DS8 has been 6 or 7 times and DD5 has been 3 times. And as much as I love taking them, it would be a dream come true to return to DW without the kids.

And yes - people think I'm crazy. My DH rolls his eyes when I start talking about the next trip. and the next. and the next. And my in-laws think I'm crazy for "wasting" so much money taking my kids to DW.

Sigh. no one understands me.

Another 21 year old college student here! But being in South-Central Texas, I have to deal with...how can I say nicely...rednecks (I was born in San Antonio, so I can say it! ). And a vast majority just don't get it. Great to see so many other college students on here!

Everyone here goes to the beach all the time and gets wasted. Not my idea of fun. However, spending a week with the Mouse is!
