I love that part of the Shamu Show. DD9 and I went to Sea World this evening, and decided to catch the Shamu show, however, Shamu had other ideas. She would not perform for the trainers.... she just swam round, and round and round. She did respond for about 5 minutes, long enough to soak the soak zone with her tail, but then they cancelled the show. She had done the same at the previous show, in fact, blocked on of the entrances from the back pool so the male whale could not come out!
Heck, a whale is entitled to a little "attitude" from time to time!
They are re-doing Shamu Stadium for the new show starting in May, "Believe". I took this picture tonight of the new stage area.
Yes, and I HATE it. We went back yesterday to see the show again, and take photos with my new camera, and I am so used to being able to see what is happening under the water, to be prepared for the dramatic jumps....that I didn't get "squat" of good photos! At least Shamu was performing unlike Monday when she had "attitude" and would do nothing the trainers requested of her.
The show is a little shorter too right now, so I was not able to really judge when things were happening.... I was one frustrated photographer yesterday.
I got on of the pics with him on the nose, but Shamu was not out of the water has far as I had hoped!
