I just booked a trip for DH, me, and our baby for the end of September . I just got low DING fares for our Nov. trip for the whole family, and so now I had some travel funds to use. So we're leaving all but the baby with grandma, and headed to Disney for 3 days the end of September (on more low DING fares, of course)!!!

This is something we never would've done without this. And that's a biggie for why we bought--to "force" ourselves to schedule in some Disney time! Not that it's a hardship

On a side note, I had my choice of 3 different resorts for my first set of dates. I was really surprised--reading on here, I would've thought it would be impossible to book this close to travel. And therefore speechless for a moment as I imagined myself at each one

Now, about adding on...the DH I had to convince in the beginning is already talking more points and we only joined a month ago

Good for you! Are you at the very end of September when there could be some F&W activities and perhaps a MNSSHP? September is always mentioned as a slow month for DVC, and I'm glad that it worked for you!

We're going the 25-27. I haven't even looked to see what was going on then yet! I know F&W will still be going on the first few days of our November trip, and DH's really looking forward to it.

I also wanted to comment on the "more points" comment...yes, that's a very very common affliction...we hardly ever can resist, we just added on 100 BCV points (after adding on 100AKV points in February, and truly, we thought we were finished then)!

Just looked, F&W starts the 28th, and the MNSSHP is that night, too. So we're just before that, which hopefully means a nice relatively crowd-free trip!

I'm right there with ya-Southwest just made me an offer I couldn't refuse for September also. Now all you need is some annual passes (if you don't have them yet) and you'll be amazed at how often these last minute WDW trips can come up for cheap. And like you, I was amazed at the resort availability on such short notice. Although I couldn't get my first choice for all 4 nights, I wasn't shut out either. Have fun!

Which three resorts did you have a chance for. I may try to change my reservation although I really love OKW and that is where we are at this point for the 21-26.

We had our choice of OKW, Saratoga Springs, Wilderness Lodge, and Savannah View AK. AK I think she said there were only 2 rooms left.

And obviously my math is off. That's 4

Yup, this is why we love DVC, too! We just went in May....then got a great DING fare for late August, so off we go again!

Same here, by the way....at only 7 weeks out, we had our choice of 5 resorts...everything but BCV.
