So we had a trip for 13 family members planned for December.

Then DSIL/DBIL/DN4 decide they want to join. Fine. No studios at VWL w/o w'listing so we made a ressie at WL just in case; could be paying $1000.

Then other DSIL/her BF/his daughter decide they want to join. No studios anywhere except SSR. And they're notoriously flaky so if they cancel, our borrowed points would expire by Feb 28, 2012 (March UY).

We put our foot down and said "Nope, can't do it. Everything is non-refundable." DMIL confided "Yeah, that was probably for the best."

This is why people never invite family, right??? :rotfl:

or friends!! I have been thru 3 different trips like this, and I am so enjoying going solo and just not telling anyone!!;)

My best trip was in March, I went solo, then a friend joined me last minute...that was awesome! to much work to depend and trust what others might do!!

you just roll with it. It is a lot of fun to have big family trips or to bring friends along, but you have to know that people can do some weird things. It helps if you time it right with your use year (Like ours is May, and we took a family trip last June) to say "if somebody cancels, we'll just go next fall and use those points" or something like that. You have to go with the flow a bit, and decide how much you'll let it stress you out and if the fun of the trip outweighs the stress. You'll have a ball with you family in December, I bet you.

Watching friends, family, and people at WDW is better than watching a reality show on TV. :lmao:

Focus on yourself and YOUR family and expect the others to talk behind your back. :sad2:
