Last week my niece, her husband and my five year old great nephew made their first trip to WDW. They stayed at POR and I decided I wanted to make sure the five year old got a surprise in his room! I called the YC concierge because that where I usually stay to ask how to go about ordering a stuffed Simba (his favorite character) to be delivered to his room. I told him I'd love to get him a signed autograph picture of Simba too but I realized that was usually done at the deluxes but I'd still want to order the plushy. A wonderful human being named Andy answered the phone and asked for a number I could be reached at in the next hour. He called back in 30 minutes and said he had called the Disney florist and they had a Simba for $18.95. He would take care of everything for me, all I had to do was give him my cc#. Then he also told me he had gone "downstairs" and found a picture of Simba and was taking it over to "Simba" to have him sign it and would personally take it over to POR to put in my nephew's room. I told him this was his first visit to WDW and that I thought he was absolutely wonderful for helping me with this!!:Pinkbounc Well.....when my niece returned she e-mailed me and told me how one night they came back from DTD and there were balloons, an autographed picture from Simba and Timon and a stuffed Simba waiting in the room for her son with his name on it!!! My nephew immediately told his mother that Simba must have seen him that day when he went to the Festival of the Lion King and knew how much he liked him. pixie dust, pixie dust, pixie dust. Now I know I initiated this but he could have just given me the number for WDW florist and that would have been it. Instead he went the extra step for someone not even staying at his resort, added the balloons and the picture and made a little boy's day!!! Once again, my hat's off to YC. They have yet to disappoint me and always seem to go that extra mile. I LOVE THE YC!!:grouphug:

What a great story! That's Disney Magic! I can't wait to stay at YC Concierge in July!!!!!

We'll be back there July 3&4. Can't wait. When is your trip? You'll love this place!!

What a wonderful story! If I were you, I'd write a letter to his supervisor. He exemplifies Disney Magic and service!

First of all.....YCFAN, how sweet and thoughtful you are!!!! ::yes::

I completely agree with you....they are WONDERFUL!!!!

This is just another example of one of the many magical things
WDW concierges will do for you!!!!
And YC CL is known to go that extra mile!

I'm so happy for your little niece!
:earsgirl: :sunny:

thanks for sharing!

We are staying at the Beach Club Concierge in May and Andy has been helping us plan our trip. He really is amazing!

Cinderella37: What a wonderful idea!! Do you know how to go about doing that?

Just got back from YC concierge myself-There are not enough words available to describe our most magical Disney experience yet and the awesome staff on that floor!!!
Sent a letter of thanks and major praise to them. They were awesome.

YCFAN -

Call the Front Desk of the resort and ask for the name of the General Manager, as well as the name of the Concierge Manager. Address the letters like this:

Name of General Manager or Concierge Manager
Disney's Yacht Club Resort
P.O. Box 10,000
Lake Buena Vista, FL 32830

If you can't find out the names of the managers, just address it to "General Manager" and "Concierge Manager." I'm sure that both individuals will love to hear from a guest who is thrilled with the service, rather than hearing a complaint (though I did hear that YC is number one in guest satisfaction and (my favorite) BW is number two).

Cinderella37: Thanks, I'll do just that! By the way, your first two days at BWI we'll be finishing up at the Poly LVC. Enjoy your vacation!:sunny:

I love that story! YC concierge is my absolute favorite as well, just returned on Sunday from my 7th stay there, it is absolutely fantastic!
The staff there is so amazing, we are so spoiled, the YC concierge has made it virtually impossible for us to stay anywhere else!
can't wait to go back again in November for 15 nights!

fyi: the manager of concierge is Joe Campbell,
and the operations manager is Larry Carr

:) :)

Thanks for sharing your MAGICAL experience!~What a wonderful story...:goodvibes

We too, had a fabulous time at the YC CL. It is still one of the FAV haunts of the Disney execs (due to superior service, size--as it's the smallest of all Disney Resorts with only about 700 rooms, and the location!).

What a "precious" memory you (with the assistance of your YC CL "ANGEL" Andy) have made possible for your Grand Nephew and family. I hope you write a thank you, to let "Andy" know how much this meant to you (and also...the details of the outcome).
It is for these precise reasons...we return to WDW year after year, and LOVE the CL & Concierge staff of all the resorts!

Thanks again, you made my day!!

We will be at the YC Concierge next week. If I see Andy I am going to tell him about this thread. That is a great story and he should know that a lot of people think so. Definitely write the manager of the resort.
