Sept 11th (NY) Jan 11th (Haiti) and March 11th (Japan)...Luke 21:10-11 Then Jesus said to his disciples : "Nation will rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom. There will be great earthquakes', famines and pestilences in various places, and fearful events and great signs from heaven. 'Jesus says for behold I come quickly,' ♥* [so ask yourself r u ready?]

Not sure if I could really post that bc of it being religious so mods you can delete if so. I was just curious as to what you all thought about it. Not sure how to take it.

eh, some people believe that the endtimes are marked by wars and disasters. you've never heard this before?

Meh, I would point out the many tragedies over the same time period that did not happen on the 11th of the month.

I would also point out that the Haiti earthquake occurred on the 12th of January (not the 11th).

If it were my aunt, it would mean that I would be hiding her updates from my daily Wall view...

Anyway, "end times" have been being predicted since just about the beginning of time. When I was in chiropractic school, one of my teachers who also had a practice quit the college and closed her practice, in preparation for the end of the world which she felt would be as '99 went to '00. As far as I know, she's still around....

Good call, crash.

And while googling I notice that Japan had a 7.3 earthquake with small tsunami on the 8th (here)...so it's not like the one on their Friday was out of the blue.

Good call on the Haiti earthquake.

I have heard about the whole Dec 2012 thing but I try not to think about it.

My dh always watch shows regarding it. Kind of scary but at the same time I try not to think about it as well. We never know what tomorrow will bring. I just hope the media doesnt hype on this as the date comes closure.

Eh... we have been predicting the end of the earth since the beginning of time. Obviously, we have yet to be right.

And I don't understand a bunch of people getting worked up about 2012. In my mind, they just ran out of stone. Besides, the end of their civilization was a LONG time ago.

I've seen that on at least 5-6 status updates today...it's just another one of those things that I just keep scrolling right past, no need to leave a comment or think twice about it. Just like "it's sisters week..." or "People with cancer only have one wish..." blah blah blah.

It is scary and I agree about the media but I am sure they will.

If you believe in the Bible, take comfort in knowing that Jesus said that NO ONE but God knows the day that will be the end. So if someone tells you a day that it will be, you can be certain that it won't be that day!;)

People have been predicting "the end" for thousands and thousands of years and it hasn't happened yet. My question is, what does she mean when she asks "are you ready"?? Is there something we should be doing to prepare? Repent our sins?? If the end is coming, it is going to come whether we are ready or not, isnt it? I find it hard to believe that anything we do in our final days/hours will change the outcome so how are we supposed to be ready? Should I stock up on bottled water? Pack a suitcase?? Anyway...the fact is that natural disasters have ALWAYS occurred. Wars have ALWAYS occurred. Diseases have ALWAYS occurred. None of this means the end is here. I don't buy it!!

I knew someone who, in '99, gave up their house in town, moved to the country with NO ELECTRICITY and NO PLUMBING, and began to raise their own animals and grow their own food in preparation for the inevitable meltdown. :scared1:

I however, moved to a big city and never heard what became of her......

Maybe they were as happy with their choice as you were with yours. For some people that is a happy place. :)

Maybe she is thinking like this group led by Harold Camping ( Familyradio.com)in California???? This group has been driving all over the US preaching that Judgement Day is October 21,2011 and the rapture of the church is May 21,2011..It was HEADLINE news on CNN last weekend. They showed up in Hershey Pa on Friday last week with their demonstration posters. They have a pretty big following and have been all over the place and all over the news.

"are you ready" is the part that made me stop and think........what is she talking about.

well, it usually means "are you ready to face eternity?" i'm really surprised that anyone hasn't been exposed to these concepts. they have been around for a long long time. they have been believed, and they have been mocked...but they are out there.

I have been a student of prophecy for years, this guy Harold Camping has been around a long while. He predicted it in 1988, and 1994 and both years obviously nothing happened. Not sure where he is getting his dates from but he has a long winded reasoniong behind it ,and he sounds quite convincing..I feel bad for all the people that are his followers, alot of them left jobs, families etc..I am not slamming or bashing anyones beliefs btw.I just don't subscribe to his theories myself.I believe that when the bible says "no man knows the hour, the day" It means it.
