im planning a trip with my b/f in Oct 2008 (for my 20th birthday). i really want to stay in a disney hotel cos i never have before (i have in paris but not in orlando). but i really love the rosen centre/plaza on i drive (both of them) and i realy wana stay there again cos i love being on i drive! im considering for a 2 week holiday to stay the first week in the rosen entre or the rosen plaza and do mainly the universal/seaworld/ etc with only a few disney days, then for the 2nd week stay in a disney resort (probably a moderate, maybe POFQ) and do mainly disney that week with only a few other days.
is this possible if i book with virgin or do you think it will be a other to move hotels half way through the holiday?

We often do a split stay - best of both worlds. I'm sure it's possible with Virgin, but I think I'd be inclined to book flights and accommodation separately - it always works out cheaper for us and it gives you more flexibility to take advantage of all the little extras which can be difficult to arrange when you've booked a package. We can help you out if you decide to go down the DIY route.

yes you can change hotels and basically do whatever you want with Virgin - we've been with them several times and always swap and change things around - normally staying at 2 or 3 different places each holiday!

Is your B/F older? - I was just wondering whether you will be having a car? If not you can easily book a taxi to move you and your luggage to the next hotel.

By the way, POFQ was one of the hotels we were considering for next year - and everything I've read about it sounds fantastic!!

Look into all options for Oct with Virgin, Flight only, Flydrive and Package.
Example from 2 years ago, Flight only was £700 each for 3 of totalled £2,100. We did a package with them on the same flights including 21 nights hotel at BW Lakeside for £1,600. It could be worth booking an offsite package then booking your Disney hotel seperate. The year we booked the above we left ours empty for 7 nights while we went on Disney Cruise.
Earlier in the year I checked out price for 7 night package again for 3 of us with Virgin for half term £1,700 If we added 2 weeks onto the half term for a 3 week package it only added £100 to the total.
So you need to look at all options
Good luck.

thanks guys for all your help!
yes my boyfriends older, he will be 21 when we go, thats why we are waiting so that we can get a car, cos i cant be bothered with all the hassle of taxis busses etc. we have both been before many times with our familys, and many times to dlp together, but this will beour first florida trip together! im excited allready!

Yes save the pricey deluxe hotel for your wedding!! - I personally think alot of the moderate hotels are just as nice!! - (although we are staying in the poly this time - Its only because we will have the monorail - as we are taking 2 small kids for the first time!)

Wayneg - Just a quick question - My friend is looking to do a simliar thing to you (booking a hotel then going off to the cruise in the middle) - for some crazy reason its alot cheaper that way! :confused3 - Did you tell the hotel staff what you were doing? I was just worried the cleaning staff might report you as missing otherwise!!!

Yes I told reception, Didn't want all the Orlando police out looking for us:rotfl2:
