This is us..

I didn't get a Tangled reference from that. DH and his sisters have been saying that since they were kids, and he's 46.

I love you
I love you more
I love you the most
I love you more than the most

I thought it was a nod to Tangled. I think it's a little too coincidental for them to have them using that phrase.

I am going to have to watch this when my family is asleep so they don't witness the ugly cry.

That's one of the reasons that I wait to watch it Wednesday mornings when no one else is home. We may have a snow day Wednesday. Everyone is going to need to leave me alone for an hour at some point because I'm not going to be able to wait too long to watch it.

I hadn't even made this connection... could be a nod to the movie, but I doubt it since Tangled wasn't out when the kids in the show were young.

Ehh, I don't know...why would NBC "promote" a Disney movie? I say and always have said a version of that with my kids (long before Tangled came out).

I love you.

I love you infinite.

I kinda doubt it had anything to do with Tangled, although it was a nice coincident that this Tangled fan appreciates now that it was brought to my attention.

OMG I absolutely hate his hair. what an ugly hair piece. it has to be fake hair the way it sticks off the back of his neck at the shoulder. so cheesy. It makes him ugly to me. greaseball. yuck.
His appearance is off-putting but not near so much so as Rebecca and Miguel in their aging make-up. It's just really, really terrible. I've seen many other shows where it's done better, so I've got to believe it's some sort of choice that's been made by the production team.

Mandy Moore said it takes 4 hours to put that aging make up on.

Tomorrow nights show is going to be all about Jack and Rebecca, I think they said it was going to even be before they met so we should get some more history on Jack's dad and Rebecca's mother hope we only got a touch of that so far.

It also seems like the aging makeup isn't 100% consistent. This past episode, it looked like they did less to make her face fuller which made it seem less authentic.

Wow, I just looked up how old Mandy Moore is and she will be 33 in April. Milo is 39. I just wondered why they needed to age Mandy to make her look old and drab. She was a hip mom and a very hip person-I wish they would carry her personality to her older age. Maybe that is why we are all having a hard time with her acting as an older person-it is just not her.

I think that's part of the problem, they just consider being older the entire package. Similar to a lot of the focus they give Kate, overweight, end of characterization. I hope they flesh these out with the prospect of at least two more seasons to come.

A better job was done on the Steak and Shake guys.

To me Mandy Moore's older look is part of her character. Something in her past between young Rebecca and now is weighing heavily on her and her personality is different in the older version. I'm not sure that it's entirely just Jack's death and the lies about Randalls parents.

The scene with Randall on the walk brought out more emotion and affect in her than we've seen. The older character is wound tight and never relaxes. And her hair- not a fan of that bob on her.

I think there's much more of her past waiting to be brought to light.

I've never done the math on exactly how old present-day Rebecca is supposed to be but they have transformed her into a complete and utter frump. No real person would willingly look like that if they could help it.

I've never seen that commercial but whatever they did, it couldn't have been worse than TIU. :thumbsup2

Omg! OP here! Thank you for posting this link! I had decided to stop commenting on this even though people were insisting it wasn't a nod to Tangled. They were pretty positive about it too, when reallly, no one could have known for sure. It wasn't worth arguing about to me, but thank you for confirming this. Here's a snap shot of that part of the article.
