Ugly cry here. I cried several times with Rebecca as she told the kids, talked with Miguel, broke down in the car.

Oh well I don’t watch those. I figured it was pretty obviously related to the fire somehow.

It's weird because I seem to only ugly cry with Kevin. I guess because I feel like he's the most broken of the three.

Had a family member die from complications from smoke inhalation. Figured that's where they were going early in the episode. Can't believe I didn't shed a tear. Maybe it's because I saw it coming.

Yeah, I pretty much knew that's what was going to happen when the EMT was telling him he needed to go to the hospital to get checked out further. And the look he had on his face as he watched Rebecca walk away from his room. Like he knew he was going to die... and the way they filmed it you knew that was last interaction between them before he passed away.

I only read them online. Some were posted here on this thread. Anyway, I agree that it was more important to see how the surviving characters dealt with it.

I about tore a hole thru DH’s jeans as I held onto him throughout the episode. I didn’t drop any tears until the fast forward with Tess and then Deja showing up.

I missed that the game they were watching was today’s game. Now I’m going to have to go back and watch it!!!!

I only read them online. Some were posted here on this thread. Anyway, I agree that it was more important to see how the surviving characters dealt with it.

Gotcha. Yeah I tend to stay away from interviews, because I don’t need them to sell me on the show. I was hooked from the first one! I do think it was just awful and traumatic the way he died though. So many regrets all around. Ugh. Why did he spend so much time in that smoke??

Yeah, I mean it was sad but it wasn't any big shocking twist. I guess they thought they were being clever by saying "No one has been able to guess how Jack dies" since no one specified HEART ATTACK due to smoke inhalation?? But a lot of people were guessing smoke inhalation.

So Jack's death was how most of us envisioned it. So I guess the surprise was that it wasn't a surprise. I thought it was a good episode and I loved the twist with Tess being the social worker too.

I bought both seasons on amazon. I usually watch the day after the show airs so I don't have to watch commercials. I didn't think the commercials were too bad (not a crazy amount) tonight though which was nice.

I cried a lot this episode. And I think Mandy Moore gave an excellent performance this week! Love the twist of Tess being the social worker!

We didn't catch the inclusion of tonight's game in the show. How did they do that?

I am so thankful we didn't have to actually see the moment of Jack's death (or at least see Jack at the moment of his death; I know we saw a lot of action surrounding that event in the background while Rebecca was on the phone) and that he didn't burn up with the house. Glad the writers spared us those, at least.

I had a hard time getting through this episode. Lots of tears and difficulty breathing (I have asthma, so emotions are hard on my lungs).

The twist at the end was brilliant. Soooo glad the writers left us with something to lift our spirits a little after the pain of losing Jack. I gasped with surprise when I saw Randall and grown up Tess. And Deja's back!!!!!! Sadly, I guess this means something else happened with her mom, but I'm so glad Deja returned to Randall and Beth.

Jimmy is on now, so I better pay attention to that. Looking forward to seeing the cast. What a night!
