From a fellow Taurean to another....The best advice I ever got from another (older) Taurean colleague when I was younger....he phrased it along these lines....
"I understand how you feel. It really really frustrating KNOWING that you're right and no one else seems to see the %$#%# obvious the way we do.
But...consider pausing for 10 seconds before you open your mouth. When you do open your mouth, repeat what THEY said FIRST. Then provide your viewpoint. If nothing else, it will make the other side feel like you're considering what they have said. At best, it will give you time to consider saying things differently....tactfully."
It took me a while to learn to pause before I opened my mouth. But I did eventually get the knack.
Now, people really think I'm a good listener and that I pay attention to what they said because I'm so good at repeating what I think they said first. And then when I provide my viewpoint, I get afforded the same courtesy of them listening to me.
Just by repeating back what they said gives them the impression that you're agreeing with them; but you're not really. It doesn't cost much time but it does make you appear more cooperative and open to their idea.
