This Is The Place For You If You Enjoy Being Last...

Lots of homework is a shock to the system sometimes! DS's worst year was actually 2nd grade and he would cry for about 20 minutes before getting down to business.

All those honors and AP classes in high school weren't so bad after that!

Afternoon everyone... I left after work after lunch today to enjoy the beautiful day

I am in a great mood today even though I am currrently alone. DH is at work. DS5 is at preschool, and DS8mos is enjoying a long nap. My husband is taking me on the first date we've had in a long time tonight, so I am excited. The last one was when we were on the ship (in Atlantis), and he took me to see Harry Potter when Connor was about a month old. That means this will be our third date, since Connor was born almost nine months ago.

DS got accepted in the all day kindergarten program at his private school yesterday. He is going for sure as long as we can pay the $1100 plus each month (scary, I know). Cobra will be done by then, so it should work. I was also thinking about going back to work. I do not feel too dizzy, and my headache is only about a four. It is a wonderful day to turn 32.

DS loves public transportation and asked me recently when he gets to take the school bus. I told him he will not get to take it until he goes to Public school. Hope it is not too bad for you Queenie.

Speaking of a lot of homework, the biggest criticism his school gets is that they assign too much (except for preschoolers who get none). I will be enduring that starting next schol year. Their students test over the 90th percentile compared to peers, so they must know what they're doing. He will probably go to public school in first grade, so it will ease up a little.

Hope everyone else is having a great day too. Oh, I took the boys back to the Doctor yesterday. Xander is almost completely better. It will probably just take a couple more days. He said it will take about another week before Connor's fully passes. A year ago today, I had to take Xander in for being so sick. DH had a whole spa day planned for me that had to be cancelled. This day is already off to a much better start than last year.

Gosh. I know the NZ dollar is in the toilet But a super 8??

The tropicana has small rooms and can be quite cheap. Just depends on how many people.

All the trains on my line stopped running in one section a few hours ago so everything is off timetable. Saving grace. At least they're running again. Sigh....

Why did the trains stop? There is just two of them, and thier aim is to spend only $2K. While this doesn't include airfare, everything is looking expensive for 2K.

I hope your friends have a great holiday, skiboy. As long as they are happy with the accommodation and it's clean, that's the main thing. I assume that they did look at the options of the Entertainment card and staying at the HoJo as well as all the other hotel/motel accommodations around Disney.

I suggested a lot of places, but they were busy and prices kept rising. They needed 6 night under $450 which was doable at first and hard to find now. No ent rates at hojo.

You said they were coming to LA, but they're going to Anaheim! That's a lot easier to find cheap safe accommodations than LA. I helped this poor little Aussie QB, and she was pretty clueless, must've lived in a crime free suburb with no worries. She called Hollywood "dodgy" :lmao:.

The Super8 rates fine. I told them what it would be like and they are fine with that.

They are going to LA. I suggested staying in Anaheim because it's safe and clean. They are going to DL for 2 or 3 days, Santa Monica, Hollywood, Universal, shopping in Anaheim and Fullerton, Irvine. All over the place, maybe even Long Beach Harbor.

DS is loving the new school and there is lots of interesting and varied homework.

That is great that the school is better, much better.

Skiing. I well understand budgets. Our one night pit stop stays in the UK have been travelodge. Which has been getting worse and worse. Still clean. But you don't even get soap. In any form. In the bathroom. But they have literally been pit stops.
Just can't imagine a super 8 for 6 nights.
It's hard first timers appreciating rates will just go up. So a real shame they didn't get a harbor blvd place.
But I hope they have a good time. I really do.

Kmedina. Yay for a good day. Happy birthday. :yay:
And I'm so happy about the school. Great news. Expensive. But they'll really help him like he needs. Without my mum deciding to pay for lots of speech therapy my brother would have been delayed abd behind. Despite having a very high IQ as he just wasn't speaking....English. Lol. It was his own language.

I tolerate and loathe public transport. My first job was in the city but on the south side with cheap parking. Despite being very close it's now a 20min bus ride due to traffic from that carpark to the office.
Morning isn't too bad except my bus to the station rarely runs on time and so I'll miss trains.
But night can be very bad :(
Weekends I drive everywhere. It's just a joke.

A school bus takes you point a to point b. He won't like it with the kind of switches and walks I do.

Hi to everyone else.
So glad it's Friday but I'm praying the computer works today. I need to get this stuff out and publishing the (150) sheets can crash the system and go wrong and you always pick up errors. Sigh...

Tired already and it's only 8:11am
