These poeple just came in and they have one of the original Fort Wilderness Railroad train cars on a trailer. Very nostalgic.

If you are coming up over the weekend they are in the 1000 loop.

WOW, that is amazing! They also seem to have quite the setup surrounding the car!

I'll admit that's something I'd like to see, but why the heck would somebody haul that around? I'd convert it to a camper.

DisCamper-

You are darn right, that is cool!

Even before your most recent excellent post, I was going to award you a TCD Junior Deputy badge, but now I am thinking that maybe I should ask you to award me a DisCamper Junior Deputy Badge.

You are doing a great job with your on-site reporting!

It looks like the guy with the train car has a display set up. Is it about the Ft. Wilderness R.R.? Where did he get the train car? After seeing this, I am tempted to head East for another TCD quality control inspection. Even though I was just at the Fort, this train car is something that I would like to see with my own eyes.

Thanks for sharing!

That would be the coolest thing ever! It actually resembles one of the earlier housecars or caravans from the 1910-1925 era. Would make an awesome camper, if you had the money to sink into it.

GET OUT!!! This is very cool! DH & I were wondering what we were going to do today.....hmmmmm.....a trip to the Fort perhaps?

Honestly...my thoughts are...how could you desecrate the Dis RR Car by changing it in any way? Why buy (for big $$$) and then change? I think we can all agree that the reason behind buying it in the 1st place would be to grab a piece of Dis history. I can only hope I am not alone in these thoughts.

Don't worry Cheryle, I don't have the money to desecrate anything these days. I suppose if I did have that kind of money I wouldn't convert it into a camper. I'd likely turn it into a ticket booth at a nightclub. Now THAT's how you desecrate something.

We will be there this evening, can't wait to check it out. Hi Cheryle see you real soon.

If anyone gets to talk to the owner ask him if he would mind sharing his email address. I know some guys on the FWRR boards (Me included) would love to hear his story. You can give him my email: ynottony99@yahoo.com

Am I seeing this correctly? The car has it's own site? Wow...if I wasn't stuck at home with two sick boys, I know where I would be going right now...to see a piece of history....
