This is such a sad story

Locally, this older couple was getting ready to head out to Arizona for the winter this past Saturday. They stopped to pick up a prescription. Since they were driving a motor home and there really wasn't a good place to park, the husband was going to drive around for a few minutes and come back. Unfortunatley, he didn't realize that after his wife stepped out of the motor home, she slipped on some ice and fell under it. He drove away, over her, not realizing. He came back to find the ambulance there. Unfortunatley, she did not survive. Can you imagine the guilt???

Oh, how sad. I feel so sorry for the husband.

That is so horrible. I can't imagine what he is going through.

That sort of reminds me of a horribly sad story that happened years ago. A child asked his/her grandfather to go sled riding with him/her. The grandfather felt it would be most safe (and more fun) to place the child in front of him, with his arms wrapped around the child (maybe 3/4 yo). They accidentally ran into a tree on their way down and the child was killed. It just struck me because the grandfather was trying to do something enjoyable with his grandchild...and the weight of his body is what actually killed his own grandchild. He was even thinking about safety when it happened. I just could not imagine the "If I would have only" regret and guilt involved. This happened like a day or 2 after Christmas, IIRC. So sad.
