Somewhere in my house there is toy making noise and I can't find it! :scared1:

It's a faint music sound going off and I've looked everywhere. The oddest part is that it sounds like it's coming from my kitchen. I hear it in there more than in the family room. I've opened cabinets, drawers and looked under everything.

I've taken all of the toys out of the toy box, looked under the couches, behind the tv... and nothing. The only thing that I can think is that it's stuck in the recliners on my couches.

Eventually the batteries will die but until then :headache:

LOL.. I have a cricket or two in here - and can't find them to save my soul.. It's driving me nuts - chirp, chirp, chirp - and NO batteries to die out!!

You mentioned the kitchen.. Did you get a flashlight and look under the fridge? How about under or behind the stove?

Hope you find it soon - or the batteries die.. LOL..:goodvibes

LOL, that happens here too. I especially love when a toy starts making noise right when you walk into a dark room.......hehehe

Years ago, shortly after my divorce, I was living by myself (well, with a 1 year old, so with no other responsible adult) for the first time in my life. Late one night, something woke me up. I was just falling asleep again when I heard "moooooooooooooo". I freaked out, called my mom, and had her on the phone with me while I checked on my son and searched my apartment. The culprit.... my son's fisher price farm's batteries were running low and it would make the cow noise every few minutes. Did I honestly think that a burglar was in my house and stopped to play farm for a few minutes? No. Did I think that I had a mad cow on the loose? No. But at 3am a random mooing can really scare ya!

My kids used to have a puzzle that had a sound thing built in -- when you put the right piece in place it would make an animal sound. One day I kept hearing this faint moooo --since we had several noisy toys, it took me quite a while to figure out that it was this puzzle, and something was sitting on top of it, tricking the sensor. I think this is a good reason to leave for lunch or shopping until the batteries can die!

Wow.... another random mooing. I think we have a cow conspiracy on our hands!

It might be a kitchen timer. Check all your kitchen drawers again.

I got a free electronic stopwatch in a goodie bag from a charity walk. I threw the bag in my closet where it commenced to beep very faintly, once a day at noon. It about drove me insane until I dug through that closet and found the source! :rotfl2:

Good luck!

This was my thought. One of my timers' batteries started to go bad and started a weird noise like that.

Also, we have a very old doorbell, and sometimes when the button gets stuck, there's a buzzer sound that it makes inside the house.

Good luck!

When DD was born, I had finished all our Christmas shopping, but hadn't wrapped. My newphew was in love with Big Bird, and I bought him this talking Big Bird. Apparently, it was very sensitive.

I walked into her room about 2am to get a diaper and flicked on the light. I heard, "He-llooooooooo" and almost wet myself. I screamed, which scared the baby, who started to scream, which woke my soon to be ex, who then also started to yell at me for waking him up. Needless to say, his feathery rump got shipped out the next day.

:rotfl:
I'm sure this wasn't funny at the time, but :lmao:

What kind of noise is it? If it's a chirping noise, it might be your smoke detector needing a battery change.

LOL, I had that happen to me once and it scared the crud out of me. In the end I discovered my kids had left a small toy turned on and when I would walk by the room the vibrations of my footsteps would start up the toy but that it would shut back off before i could find it. it took me a while to figure out what was happening but when I did i found it. This was in the basement and at night :scared1: for a few moments I thought we either had a ghost or I was losing my mind. Glad it was a toy:rotfl:

A few years ago, my wife and I were awoken by what sounded like a rooster crowing just outside our home. I spent quite a while outside hunting down the beast before we realized that it was the computer in my home office allerting us to a woot-off.

Well, my DD figured it out. It's a musical Mickey Mouse coffee cup! :lmao:

I've had this cup for years but never use it. Because of the music, it can't go in the dishwasher.

Anyway, somehow the box ended up under my kitchen sink. I'm still not sure what was setting it off, but the mystery is solved.

The funny thing is that I thought of the cup but the last time I saw it, it was in the cabinet over the stove. I looked there but didn't see it. I never thought to look under the sink.

At least the mystery is now solved! :rotfl:

The music that I was hearing was the start of "who's the leader of the club..."
