volunteer at my kids' schools as often as I would like to. I hate the gossiping moms!!! I volunteer anyway to help the teacher and the kids. Sometimes I feel like I'm back in high school...

There is one mom in particular that likes to "talk" about the children with behavior problems. She will start talking to you and tell you, "So and so is trouble, so and so is a brat". We were helping in DD's classroom last Friday when the teacher had to leave because she was sick. When the substitute came in, this mom went up to her and started telling her about the children with behavior problems. UGH!!! How I hate this!!! She isn't supposed to do this sort of thing, but she does it anyway. Today, the same thing happened... I think she got the hint that I didn't like it. I just have to keep reminding myself that volunteering is good for the kids and helps the teacher.

AMEN! DD's class is fine though. Now I volunteered for the PTA, that is just OPEN fighting & gossiping worse than high school.

Double Amen to the PTA being a gossip mill. (I suppose we're being a bit gossipy right now, aren't we ?)

I was involved heavily in the PTA when DD was in elementary school and the gossip about the kids, teachers AND the parents was almost too much to take. I thought we were there to support the kids and the school and to have a good time while doing it. Boy was I wrong most of the time.

Now I am a paid PTO member for the high school, but that's where my support ends. If it was bad in elementary school, high school is probably even worse. Some kids have alot more vices now that they're older.
