This is my first time...please be gentle.

LOL, yes Disney Quest it would be. Unfortunately, I can no longer par take in the pleasures of Dairy Queen. :( I've read so much about all the wonderful desserts at WDW that it's almost depressing. But...I digress.

Welcome to the DIS!!!

My son and I have stayed at ASMo twice and we really like it. My son also LOVES Disney Quest. I think it would be fun to do the 1st day.

Hi there GoofieRuthie  Glad to get to meet you! Welcome to the DIS! I hope you enjoy it here and have fun planning your trip!

Hi and welcome!!!!! Well, welcome to posting anyway!! :)

As for the boards that you cannot access, they are for certain groups, i.e. Cast Members only, or Moderators. Were there any others?

Good to have you come out and say hi!

Welcome to the Boards.:D

I would recommend making some Priority Seatings for dinner/lunch/breakfast before you leave. You don't have to eat at the places but where you are going during a very busy season you would at least have a good chance at eating around the time you would like.

Don't try to do everything while you are there. Pace your time. Just enjoy yourselves while you are there. Don't try to rush and see everything, it is pretty much impossible. We did a lot of park hopping while we were there and still did not see everything, that is probably why we are going back again this year.

You may want to decide which parks you want to visit daily, so at least you have your days somewhat planned.

Definetely check out the trip boards. People have some great suggestions on those boards.

But most of all just go and have a great time.

:D :D

Welcome to the DIS, GR!!!!!!! Great to see you. These boards are wonderful. When we made our first trip to WDW in '99, I had been on the boards for about 8 months or so. Even though I had never been to the World (except for a business convention for me), it was if I had been there ten times previous. They helped so very much.

Enjoy your first ever, you will NEVER forget it. (Let us know what parts bring tears to your eyes :)) It truly is a magical place. Every time I leave, I can only think of going back.

Use all the boards here (save the few Cathy mentioned) they are a treasure trove of information. And please, please make sure to return here when you return, we do have fun here, just like family. Nice to meet you, GR!!!!!!

Hello and Welcome - I myself lurked for awhile before introducing myself - I love this board everyone is friendly and helpful - I see a few people have directed you towards the THEME PARK AND STRATEGIES BOARD - good place for info and dealing with the crowds etc.

I will offer only one bit of advice - Enjoy yourself! don't try to do and see everything - enjoy each minute you are there - don't be thinking after Dumbo we have to get in line for ...and then.... - You'll go crazy!

and

DRINK ALOT OF WATER!!!!!
and

SIT AND TAKE BREAKS!!!!
Okay it was 3 things - I have trouble with counting:D

First of all, welcome!!!!
My guess is that you are arriving a little later in the day, and don't wantt o waste a day on your pass for a half day of touring, right? Good thinking.

DQ is one of many things you can do on your first day, if you don't want to hit a park. There is also mini-golf, at either Fantasia Gardens or Winter Summerland...I've done both, and they are both fun. The DD/DQ/PI(Downtown Disney,Disney Quest,Pleasure Island)area is also a good way to spend time. Don't forget about the pool at your resort...another nice way to spend some time. I think if I have to say anything about most people who travel to WDW, it's that they don't take enough time to enjoy their hotel. Don't get to caught up in having to see every single thing in every single park, because you aren't going to be able to do it in the amount of time you have during the week you're going.

I usually advise people with kids to get up and out early if possible, get to a park, tour the park for a few hours, leave early afternoon, go back to your hotel to relax, swim, have lunch, and then go back to the park later in the evening when it's cooler. The parks are very different at night than they are during the day, and it's nice to experience both times.

No matter how you do it, enjoy!!!!!
